We usually get to Ocean City twice a year – in April for Perfect Date and in October/November to close out the year. We ALWAYS go to On the Bay. Im going to be blunt, if you like seafood and eat anywhere else, I feel sorry for you. This is awesome seafood served hot and fast at a great location and atmosphere. Like seriously, what more could you ask for?
There is about a 50% chance that the person taking your order is the owner, especially early and late in the year. They are awesome people and a joy to talk to.
Every time I go I swear Im going to try something else and every time I get the scallops. SO has gotten the crab but IM stuck on the scallops because they are so so so good. Corn is seasonable so if you go in April it might not be available. Its always awesome.
The location and atmosphere could not be better. Wooden tables with sand at your feet. It doesnt get more beach.
At the height of the summer season On the Beach gets packed and you will wait in line. Its so worth it.
Dont think about it, just go there. You will not be sorry.

If you want meaty crabs, this is your place to go!! Best family owned, local crab joint in OC, MD! We will return every time we are in town! Staff were very friendly and attentive! Great value for your money!

Eating at On the Bay is a must do every trip my family takes to OC. In fact, we go multiple times during our stay because you can’t beat the amazing quality and taste of these crabs! I’ve been a customer for the last 19 years. They constantly have THE best crabs. There have been times we’ve done a long weekend from CT to Ocean City just to go to On The Bay. Rob and Rose run the absolute best crab shack and are great people to boot.

Tried my first crabcake here. It was phenomenal. I’m not sure about what the market prices are, but it was indeed expensive. This seems like a great place to get locally caught seafood after an evening on the beach. They have outdoor seating but with a sandbox floor.

Still a great place to go. Owner operated, friendly, beach atmosphere. Cook to order so may take longer when busy (about 10-15 minutes from order to served when not busy).

Wife and I come down to the beach once a year just enjoy these crabs from On the Bay. They are the best, heaviest and juiciest crabs around. The owners are also the nicest people. You walk up, order what you want and sit and wait. Very cute sand filled eating area.

All my friend wanted was some blue crabs. He hasn’t had any good blue crabs the entire summer. I heard great reviews on Facebook about this place so we tried it, they definatly spoke the truth the crabs were absolutely delicious. The corn was super fresh and tasty and surprisingly the potato salad was pretty good, I’m a potato salad connoisseur Ron/Rob don’t exactly remember the gentleman’s name (owner/manager however he was so super nice and accommodating. He made sure all of our needs were met and he came out to chit chat with us. Can’t wait to come back and visit this place.

A truly remarkable dining experience. From Ohio we have never eaten crab but was on our bucket list. From start to finish the owners walked us and assisted our every need. We ordered the steamed shrimp first which was delicious. Next came the crab and the owner sat at our table and explained step by step what we needed to do. He was patient and humorous walking our entire family through the process. We all enjoyed our time and experience!
