Very Honest Reviews
Delicious upscale Omakase restaurant in Flushing! We came here to celebrate Valentine’s Day and had a great time. The restaurant is designed very well and has great aesthetics. Similar to the design of great omakase restaurants in Manhattan.

We had 2 options to choose from between the 16 course omakase for $109 vs the 15 course premium omakase for $159. Although the more expensive option has less pieces, they are supposed to be more premium ingredients. Nevertheless, we went with the $109 option because still a lot of the premium pieces like Toro w/ Caviar and A5 Wagyu and Sweet Shimp with Uni. We were not disappointed!

My favorite piece was the Toro w/ Caviar, and I got another one a la carte afterwards to finish off my meal prior to dessert. The dessert was match ice-cream with mochi and mango, and it was delish!

The servers were very attentive and kept the table clean and the drinks topped off. The omakase chef was very friendly and we enjoyed a nice conversation with him. He also was able to make accommodations if you had allergies, or wanted to adjust the taste.

I would definitely recommend this place, and I would come back for sure. Not sure if I would try the premium menu since I thought the $109 option was already really good. So glad we found such a good omakase place without having to travel into the city.

Omi Omakase is truly one of the best omakase experiences I’ve had in New York, especially at this price point.

For $109, the quality, freshness, and overall experience completely exceeded my expectations. Each course was beautifully presented and thoughtfully paced. The A5 wagyu with caviar was perfectly balanced and melted in my mouth, and the uni was incredibly sweet and fresh — you can really taste the quality of the sourcing.

The chef was attentive, precise, and clearly passionate about his craft. Sitting at the counter and watching each piece being prepared added so much to the experience. The chawanmushi was silky and comforting, and the hand rolls at the end were the perfect finish.

What impressed me most was the value — it genuinely feels like a premium omakase experience without the premium Manhattan price tag.

If you’re looking for high-quality omakase in Queens, Omi is absolutely worth visiting. I will definitely be back.

Had my first visit with a friend to try this omakase restaurant in Flushing—and we had such a great time!

The food was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and the overall atmosphere was very comfortable and inviting.

There were two options: a 16-course menu ($109) and a premium 15-course menu ($159). We chose the $159 option.

The meal started with warm and gentle dishes that felt really soothing for the stomach, followed by nine pieces of nigiri and a hand roll, and ended with dessert. The ingredients were handled exceptionally well—no fishy taste at all—and the sauces paired perfectly with each piece.

The staff were also very attentive, constantly keeping our table clean and refilling our tea.

Highly recommend this place!

I recently had the 16-course omakase at Omi Omakase in Flushing and was genuinely impressed. For $109 per person, the quality and freshness of the ingredients really stood out, especially the air-flown seafood from Japan. The Kumamoto oyster was plump and naturally sweet, and the chawanmushi was silky and comforting. The miso black cod was perfectly balanced—rich, tender, and flavorful—while the Miyazaki wagyu was buttery and melted in my mouth. I also loved the seasonal sashimi, which highlighted the pure taste of the fish, as well as the Hokkaido kegani and cod milt, both incredibly fresh and delicately prepared.

This is my favorite spot for a reliable and fantastic omakase experience. The 16-course menu is always satisfying, both in portion and quality. Hokkaido crab, uni, foie gras, caviar, assorted sashimi, and wagyu. Everything looked impeccable.

The service is exceptional. They carefully asked about dietary restrictions and checked in during the meal to tailor the flavors. Watching each course being prepared right at the counter is a real highlight—it’s a delicious show. It has a calm, peaceful ambiance, perfect for a date or dinner with friends. The staff are genuinely attentive and professional.

Such a great omakase spot in Flushing. Cozy counter seating and a really intimate vibe. Everything was super fresh — the toro melted in my mouth and the uni was sweet and creamy with no fishiness. You can tell they pay attention to the quality and details. Loved the starters and the mango pomelo ice cream dessert was such a nice finish.Honestly comparable to Manhattan omakase without the crazy price. Would definitely come back.

Overall, it was good and reasonably priced. However, after the course ended and I ordered additional dishes, the chef seemed to rush, which took away from the atmosphere and the enjoyment of the omakase experience. I paid a bill of over $400, but the service was not impressive. The staff seemed eager to close the restaurant, and there wasn’t even a simple “thank you.” As for the other aspects of the service, they were fairly average.

Amazing presentation and great chef. Some of the best you can get for average price omakase ($105/person). Really love the intimate setting of <20 people max around a table setup. Attentive staff making sure my tea was filled and empty dishes removed from the table swiftly. Hokkaido scallop was a favorite.

Omi Omakase just opened in Flushing, and it’s already one of the best hidden gems I’ve tried recently. The atmosphere is quiet, minimal, and very calming—perfect for focusing on the food.

The meal starts with a Kumamoto oyster topped with quail egg, scallion, salmon roe, and a yuzu jelly at the bottom. You mix it together before eating, and the freshness really wakes up your palate.

Next was the chawanmushi with white truffle, cherry sweet shrimp, and bottarga powder—smooth, fragrant, and layered with umami. Then came the deep-sea Greeneye fish, clean and tender with no fishiness at all.

From there, the progression of dishes felt very thoughtful:
• Kanpachi or madai sashimi, very fresh and delicate
• Tuna with truffle, luxurious and aromatic
• Shima aji, toro with caviar, kinmedai
• Ocean trout with foie gras (a bold surf-and-turf bite)
• Sawara or squid, Hokkaido scallop, Miyazaki A5 wagyu with truffle salt
• Sweet shrimp with Hokkaido uni, grilled eel

The highlights for me were definitely the wagyu and the toro handroll with ikura—rich, flavorful, and very satisfying. Dessert was a light cheesecake, a perfect way to finish.

The full omakase is 16 courses for $109, which is honestly a fantastic value considering the quality of ingredients (truffle, foie gras, wagyu, uni, caviar).

Overall, Omi Omakase feels refined yet approachable, with a well-paced menu that builds flavor gradually. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Flushing and looking for a high-quality sushi experience.
