I was hesitant to give Omen a try. Why you ask? First, I had heard it was a coffee shop for bible thumpers. Second, I couldn’t grasp the name. If they’re religious, why name your shop after a movie that is about Satans child. Once I visited, all of those concerns were pushed aside.
As I entered, I was immediately greeted by an associate working behind the bar. It was a generic greeting since I was not a known customer. While I enjoyed my Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso, other customers got a greeting with their name.
The space is spacious. It’s very minimalist and very bright from the large windows. I liked the contemporary furniture. I was also impressed how super clean the entire cafe was.
However, what impressed me the most was how inclusive the customers were. I would have never thought a religious coffee shop would be so welcoming to the alternative lifestyle. While I enjoyed my Espresso and Blueberry donut, I also enjoyed the eye candy. I’d say a third of those enjoying coffee and working on their computers play for the same team that I do. To my surprise, one of them was from my past of twenty years ago. So I send a thank-you, to Omen for reconnecting us.
Will I be back? When I’m in the area, I’ll stop by. I enjoyed my drink and the Blueberry Donut. The service was good and professional. Plus, who knows who you’ll meet over a cup of coffee. It just may be your Prince Charming or Fairy Princess.

Omen is absolutely awesome! The people, atmosphere, space, and coffee all live up to the hype. Every time I mention Omen, I hear others share their own great experiences there. What really makes Omen stand out are the community events—Bible studies, worship nights, and so much more—that create such a welcoming and uplifting environment. Highly recommend!

A fantastic experience. I visited Omen Coffee while waiting for my Amtrak back to Chicago. I googled plenty of shops but this one seemed the best to sit down and spend time. And I was absolutely right. The cafe is spacious with comfortable seating, and the barista behind the coffee bar was absolutely helpful, kind, and friendly. If I were a STL local, I’d be here more often. Cheers ☕

Cute shop, spent my time studying here. I only got to try the matcha so would try their coffee next time! I enjoyed the matcha although it was on the lighter side. Staff was nice and drinks came out fairly quickly.

I love Omen! It’s my home away from home. The staff is so welcoming, and they want to know more than your favorite drink! If you stop for a quick second you’ll leave with a smile after talking to anyone there. They have a wonderful community of regulars who will invite you to chat, come to bible study, or work in the community garden. It really is more than just a coffee shop. If you haven’t stopped in, you’re missing out.

I have been several times now so my review is a accumulation of all the visits.
First and foremost the coffee is… OK. It’s been inconsistent in the quality of the cappuccinos I gotten (too bitter/burnt, milk tasted off) and the lattes have always been too milky. This most recent latte I got left a weird tingle on my tongue and soured my stomach.
Staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable for the most part.
Atmosphere is… Interesting.
There have been times where it is packed and it feels like an on-campus coffee shop with everyone working on something and lots of buzz in the air.
Then the times I’ve come and there hasn’t been many people, but the music was still turned up as if the place was packed, loud enough that I didn’t feel like sitting inside.
Also, I have been made aware of two things,
1) This place also operates as a church. I’m sure that appeals to many but I find it off-putting that a (presumably) for-profit business also holds a church service, and also sells Christian-related “merch” (again presumably for a profit).
2) The owner of the business has made questionable public posts regarding the LGBTQA+ community.
Overall, the coffee is what I come to a coffeeshop for and this one has consistently disappointed me.

Beautiful space for a gathering. Pastries are delicious and the coffee drinks are amazing. The staff treated us like family.

This is a fantastic coffee shop that truly deserves all the praise. From the moment I walked in, I felt incredibly welcome—the staff is so friendly and genuinely attentive. The atmosphere is awesome, creating the perfect cozy and inviting space to relax or work. And most importantly, the coffee is absolutely perfect! Every detail here is good, and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. It’s clear they care deeply about quality and customer experience. I’ll definitely be back!

Went for the first time today to try a new coffee place and almost walked right out when I came in. Weird vibes and felt very uncomfortable, felt rushed at the counter. Tried to ask for a recommendation and told the worker I had never been in and all I got was an “ok” and tapping on the tablet while I was trying to read the menu. The one who made my drink and brought it to me was really nice though, just not the one who took my order. I rarely leave reviews but this place just felt very odd and unpleasant. The drink I got was decent and the donut was pretty good, but I don’t think I will return. My friends have had the same experience as well that have been here. Maybe it was an off day for the worker but it just was very unpleasant.

Firstly, shout out to the staff here. So incredibly kind and welcoming. This was my first visit to Omen Coffee, and the barista was very intentional with welcoming me in and to St. Louis. Service was truly incredible. Great atmosphere. I could have used a little more protein in the overnight oats, but they were still delicious. I ordered a brown sugar shaken iced espresso and it was delicious. Like, really very good! Definitely worth a visit!
