Omas Bread was established by Annette Schmidlin, she started her venture at all the surrounding farmers markets by making amazing breads.

We shared a wonderful meal with friends at Oma’s. It’s challenging to make a decision on what to eat because it all looks incredible but from what I can tell, every option is a winner. Last time we were there we had the veal liver (so tasty) and this time we enjoyed the creamy mushroom soup, fallenkuchen, and the hunters steak. Whoa!! You can taste the care and dedication in each dish. We ended with sharing almost every dessert amongst the table. Then took a cream puff for tomorrow’s coffee. If you are driving through Wadena you need to stop here! Thank you Oma and Opa!

What an outstanding restaurant. A group of 7 came to dinner service. Dinners were amazing from the venison special, duck breast, cordon Bleu, and so much more. Desserts were off the charts. Couldn’t give a better recommendation. Authentic German cuisine. A must stop place.

Our family loves all the deliciousness that is Oma’s. The amazing food , breads and desserts ! Plus the staff is always welcoming and attentive. We knew we wanted to incorporate Oma’s into our son and daughter in law’s wedding dinner. We asked them to do a dessert bar and we were blown away with the results. The variety, flavors and presentation of the dessert bar was extraordinary! Thank you to Oma’s for adding a beautiful element to our family’s special day.

Just the best in comfort food that doesn’t leave you feeling heavy and weighed down after eating. I’m a big fan of this place, and the Farmers Quiche did not disappoint. The service was top-notch, as always. The food looks just as great as it tastes – I was too excited and hungry to take a photo, and I’m not complaining! Can’t wait to come back the next time I am in the area!

Absolutely amazing food. From the bread to the soup, to the salad, to the main entree it was perfect. The bread had the flavor and consistency of my grandmother’s. The carrot soup was so very good. The salad had a light and tasty dressing and was enhanced by the beets. The Weiner Schnitzel was the best I’ve had and I live in Milwaukee where German food has been a long time ethnic staple. This gem of a restaurant was a great find. I’m only sorry that we were in the area for just one night. Thanks for a super meal

Stopped in with my kids while visiting town. I didn’t know what to expect but was so impressed! Each of my kids got a different pastry and I got the lunch special of chicken pasta in a veggie sauce. Best pastries we have ever eaten and the lunch special was so delicate and fresh. You could taste that everything was from scratch. The environment was beautiful, fresh tulips on the tables, fresh bread in the cases, large windows and sunlight and so clean. It felt like a little European vacation. Very reasonable prices and wonderful staff. Sure to stop again.
