What an awkward and uninviting place. We were immediately welcomed by a weird and unpleasant smell. The plan was to try a new (to us) local place for Mexican food, but as the smell hit us and the scene we took in was not a place we were sure we wanted to stay, we decided to just sit at the bar at first since there was no one there at the front to greet or sit us anyway. As we made our way to the bar, passing wet floor signs on top of a table, 2 dirty booths, and only one table of patrons, someone greeted us. She had been sitting at a high top bar table behind the bar-top, with 2 others so we thought they were diners, but no, they were employees. One of them came to get our drink order and she was nice but as soon as she made our drinks, she returned to the high top table behind us with the other two employees. There were 3 other bar guests and when any of the needed anything they had to get her attention from the table she was sitting at behind us. They were only drinking beer, no mixed drinks or food so we figured this was only a cheap beer specials crowd and they didn’t come for the food so we decided not to order food.
I’ve worked in the service industry for many years and always had the mindset of staying busy, whether it’s checking on your patrons or cleaning. “If you have time to lean, you have time to clean.” This place was filthy, especially behind the bar and since the whole time we were there, the staff sat at a table on their phones, they definitely had time to clean.
Hardly anyone in there dining should have been our first sign but we wanted to give it a shot. The margaritas were not very good and just seemed like a big tall glass of what tasted like a weird fake sugar – a bad/cheaper sweet and sour, I assume. The chips that were brought were ok, nothing special and the 2 sauces again were just ok, not good but not terrible. We paid for our overpriced margaritas and left. No one else came in the whole 40 mins we were there and it was in the dinner time – 6:30pm time frame. We went down the street to another local Mexican food place and had to wait 10 mins for a table because it was so busy. That’s the difference in establishments. We will not be trying the other Omar’s either after this experience.

We didn’t get photos of food, we were unprepared with how good this would be. From the beginning welcome to drinks and food, this place is hands down incredible! We had the sausage breakfast burrito and huevos potosinos plate with Barbacoa. The salsa & guac & chips, excellent too.

I have tried several times to enjoy this place but everytime the food tastes expired and the drinks are flat. I’m only writing in hopes they can turn it around. The place is beautiful but even the bartenders know the drinks are flat.

1st time visitor. Recommended by a friend who lives in Waxahachie. The atmosphere was pleasant. The service was quick. The food was less than desirable.
I ordered cowboy queso as I wasnt too hungry. This was the equivalent of seasoned yellow water. Maybe they took all the cheese to the fair and had to stretch what was left at the restaurant. I asked for a bowl to take it home, initially thinking it was just too hot and once it cooled and thickened it would be better. Four hours later at home, I still had a bowl of seasoned yellow water. Just horrible.

We have tried this place a few times we like the food and atmosphere. The customer service is lacking and has been getting increasingly worse. When we came in today there were 3 tables occupied . I have witnessed someone from each table get up to get the attention of a waitress because they were all huddled at a table eating and on their phones.. when the waitresses do wait on us they are not very personable and bordering on rude.

Was not really impressed. We got the the cowboy queso and enchiladas and both were mediocre. Not as good as D Restaurant down the road. Service was also not very attentive.

Ate here w/a party of 100+The place was reserved for us. Fajitas were served. The food was very tasty. The problem was there was literally less than 2 ounces of meat dished out onto my plate because it was served buffet style by the employees. I am a very light eater so the issue was NOT my expectations on portion sizes.The person that came with me also was given an incredibly less than child size portion of meat. The chips and salsa served were also very chintzy portions. It’s great if your food taste good, but if you’re not giving anybody hardly anything to eat, they don’t want to come back & I won’t. Not for any reason.This place ought to be ashamed of the lack of decent sized meat portions especially for what they were paid by our party.
