I visited Omar’s Kitchen and Bar in New York and had a mixed experience. The atmosphere was beautiful. I loved the colors, the music, and even the bathroom decor. The Lover’s Leap cocktail was excellent, strong and perfectly made.

The rice and peas and plantains were good, but the chicken wings tasted like they were cooked the day before with sauce added on top, which was disappointing. My mom’s fritters, though, were immaculate.

I’d probably go back for drinks, but not for the wings.

Didn’t know what to expect from a Caribbean spot in this location but they delivered.

Wasn’t overly crowded but I imagine that changes in the summer time. To start, the drinks were made perfectly.

Our waiter, Malcolm, was great.

The shrimp curry went crazy. I’d go back just for that. Overall, the vibes were nice and bill wasn’t that expensive either. Was a great time and I’ll be back. The only caveat were the tables were a bit wobbly but really didn’t mind.

The staff was very friendly and gave good service.

The oxtails was very good taste wise I just wish the oxtails was more meaty they were very small and not a lot of meat on them and didn’t get a lot of oxtail but the flavor was there for 35 dollars i should get more. Oxtail 7/10

The jerk chicken was very good as well. The flavor and spice was there , taste fresh I just wish there was there was more of a char on the jerk chicken. Jerk chicken 9/10 .

Rice and peas was very good 10/10 just wish it was served more hot. Rice was cold when I got it.

Drinks were very good as well 10/10

Wasn’t a bad experience overall I’d definitely recommend this spot for nice dinner with friends/ family etc…thank you!

Great vibe, music, atmosphere and service!!

I had an amazing experience at Omar’s Kitchen & Rum Bar! The jerk salmon was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spice—smoky, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The salmon tacos were just as impressive—fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. Great cocktails, warm atmosphere, and friendly service made the whole night even better. I’ll definitely be back!

Went to Omar’s for dinner and drinks and I had a great time! The food was amazing we got the goat ribs and the fried snapper. The portions were great and the food was flavorful.

The drinks were amazing. The tamarind and sorrel drinks were both really good. My server Malcom was great at answering all my questions and helping me figure out what to order. He also made amazing drinks.

Overall it was a great experience and I’ll definitely be back !

I stumbled across Omar’s by chance and was genuinely blown away. The staff were super friendly, which made me feel welcome right away. I ordered the Lover’s Leap for a drink along with the Hibiscus Sorrel Wings—both were packed with flavor! Everything hit the spot and I’ll definitely be back. Awesome little Caribbean spot to hang, whether you’re solo or with friends! 🙂

What a nice gem of a restaurant. Friend had placed reservation for her birthday and it was a pleasant surprise what a nice spot she had chosen. Food was delicious. I’ve had brown stew salmon with rice and friend had tamrin salmon. No grain of rice was left behind. And the staff overheard it was my friends surprise and upon us leaving they brought her a surprise birthday cake which was an amazing gesture from the restaurant. Loved it there!

W atmosphere w jerk wings mannn I couldn’t decide if I wanted another plate of them or not lol the Mac and cheese was flavorful as well just a lil too wet for my liking but my lady liked it so she finished it. The drinks weren’t bad could be a lil stronger if you ask me but for a beginner drinker definitely probably strong feel me. I’m overall it was a great time with the music playing in the background good vibes.

10/10. If you come here, please order the red snapper or the parrot fish. Flavors go crazy here and the presentation is perfection. Definitely the type of place where the ambience adds to the to the authenticity of the cuisine.
