The best “dive” bar in Centre County! Don’t be afraid to check it out … they’ve got a great selection of drinks now!

Is a Rock Bar so cool. The bartenders are so friendly. Every Saturday you can sing at the rock karaoke. Is the perfect place we want to go always after party. Bar hours are so good closing at 2 am which is so good in Bellefonte. Very nice people to make new friends. There is a Pool table to play whenever you want. Nice clean and big Restrooms. You can choose the rock song you want to listen at the jukebox. It reminds me all the places I used to go before. They sell chips and hot dogs and all the drinks you prefer. You can buy a t-shirt with the name of the bar so comfy. See you there. Rock on !!!

The Omar bar will always receive a 5 star rating from me. One of the last bars left in Bellefonte that doesn’t require membership. Also has smoking inside which I’m not a fan of but a lot of people enjoy it. The only 4 beers you need on tap Coors Light, Bud Light, Yuengling Lager, and Labatt Blue. Everything else comes in bottle or can. Great drink special on Wednesday! Love the Divey feel!

I love a good dive bar, very fun. The staff was alright for the most part but some of them are incredibly rude, so if you don’t want a fun night to be ruined this may not be the bar for you. Was treated very poorly by the lady with dark brown hair and felt like she was gonna fight me for asking one damn question. My friends weren’t treated nicely either. Think she might be the owner or something but I don’t know. Some of the staff seem timid, I wonder if they’re afraid of her cause I saw them talking. Hopefully she doesn’t treat everyone like that everyday

We were in town for a few days. Decided to stop in on our first night. Definitely a dive bar feel. The owners were both very nice, the other customers were friendly, the prices were great. We liked it so much we went back a second time. Definitely ask for the purple gatorade shot! Someone bought us one the first night and it was like a purple popsicle taste. Brought back childhood memories. We took our turn at buying them for the bar our 2nd night. People were also buying drink tokens for each other. What a fun place! Also, the new owners just bought this a year and a half ago. So, don’t take old reviews into account. We’re out of town people, they told us the history and we loved how they’re turning this place around.

Put your Karen attitude away and make this a stop if you want your classic dive bar experience. We passed through en route home to Boston from Chicago as our halfway stop. It’s chill. We are at Axeman Brewery first and had a beer and then headed here. It’s $13.50 for a great tequila n lime and Jameson n soda. Night cap. We don’t smoke but were taken back to the 50s that they allow it. And so be it. Enjoy. These are the places we need more of. Cash only with ATM.

The owner is incredibly rude. Like wow. I’ve worked in retail and food service. Yes, I’ve been short with customers. But I’ve never ATTACKED customers, I’ve never been outright angry towards them before. Worse treatment I’ve gotten from any kind of establishment. It was like how customers would treat me at Ulta, but reversed. So for someone who has worked a similar scene, I get it, so I hardly complain. However, I am this time. She was completely rude to me and my friends. And I know this is silly, but I just turned 21 so I don’t really know any rules yet, you know? I had a water bottle with water in it LITERALLY just water. After having a extremely nasty interaction with her ordering my drink, she walks over later in the night and snatches, yes SNATCHES directly out of my hand and very aggressively says “you need to leave RIGHT now.” Oh, and she still had my card when she kicked me out (this was never explained as to why I got kicked out until my friends told me). My friends had to go back in to close my tab. This situation could’ve been handled wayyyy better than what it was. And since I know you’re reading this (owner; YOU) I’ll give you an example of how you could’ve treated me so you know for next time! Since you clearly don’t have a great attitude, so let’s work on that: you could’ve told me to hand over my water and said “you can’t have that and unfortunately I’ll have to ask you to leave.” BOOM, so easy, right? Completely ruined my night and I had a DATE btw. I felt horrible and humiliated. They were incredibly understanding but I was very upset. If I ever go here again, I’ll be sure to have my friends order a drink for me to avoid that horrible attitude. Very confrontational. I hope you pay your workers well and TREAT them well, because if that’s how you treat customers then I am very, very worried about how you treat your employees. (You don’t have to be a bar owner by the way, if you hate your life that much you can do something else. Just some advice ). I’ve told my friends with who haven’t been here, and now they have absolutely 0% interest in coming to this bar.

The Omar is now called The Hootinanny [sic], with new owners. It’s still a dive, but they’re trying to make it a friendly, no-fighting dive, and it’s working. It’s cleaned up, but not polished, and single women clearly feel comfortable there. Last time we went, there was a pretty good one-man act playing guitar, and $4 drafts of Tröegs Mad Elf, and guys in motorcycle jackets, and smoking is allowed (no food). So… factor all that in, and give The Omar a shot. We’ll be back.

I will give this place two stars for its cheap drinks. This places is defiantly a dive bar for the locals. Defiantly not my scene. They don’t know when to cut people off as well as they have some shady business going on. If you like the sketchy scene with the chances of cops showing up this is the place for you. Defiantly a place to watch the local bellefonte trash come out of the wood work. I’m shocked they still have a liquor license and are open.

Run down, no food, (slow) lazy staff, unclean environment. Awkward owner/partner will hover make you feel uncomfortable and are rudely confrontational. Not good place to be at all.
