Despite buffering 30 minutes, the MTA was dysfunctional beyond our expectations per usual and we were on the verge of running late, so we called to let them know of the situation. They were very kind and understanding and let us have a 15 minute grace period, which we ended up not even needing because we sprinted there upon pulling into the station.
Upon being seated in the cozy but elegant space, the courteous staff explained the menu, including a la carte items and drinks. The chef quickly sprang into action, and we were served heavenly bite after bite. To be honest, we didn’t even really capture all of his expectations because we were too captivated by his masterpieces in our ravenous states, but every course was unique and fresh, yet giving a harmonious overall experience. My personal favorite was the striped jack nigiri, which had a bit of ponzu brushed onto it before serving. Second favorite was the appetizer – it was mindblowing flavor packed into each grain of rice.

Ok but seriously, this place is authentic and 10/10 experience from start to finish. We celebrated my husband’s birthday and splurged. Got an awesome bottle of Homare sake and did the premium omakase line up right at the sushi counter. From start to finish, beautiful presentation and impeccable service. The restaurant was perfect to celebrate an intimate occasion. It was quiet and peaceful, and we were well cared for. Each fish was fresh and prepared traditionally with no frills. The quality of the fish speaks for itself. I did my best to capture each course but it got too yummy and I got distracted. We will absolutely be back here. A delightful experience. Our waitress was kind and so attentive but not too much – clearly a pro. Our sushi chef was very present and made the experience fun and custom to our needs. Don’t think twice! It’s expensive so not a super regular thing but perfect for a special night out. Book this for your next celebration!
