Went to Omakase for lunch. The atmosphere is very inviting and the staff was friendly. The menu selection has a good variety of sushi (cooked and raw) and other Japanese food. I ordered the Omakase Roll which was so beautiful I almost felt bad eating it. My wife ordered the 815 Roll which had baked salmon on a California Roll. The salmon was melt-in-your mouth delicious. We will be going back.

The place is under new management and their food is so good and fresh! The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and is a great date spot. Definitely one of the better sushi places in rockford. Will try their sushi burritos, ramen, or poke next time

Finally got to a Ramen restaurant and this place did not disappoint! The food was so flavorful from appetizers to dessert. Definitely will return! It’s a small space so reservations would be ideal unless you go at an off time like we did!

Was craving sushi. And this is pretty much your only choice in this small town for that. We came in the early evening. It got around semi busy by dinner time. It’s got a nice ambiance for date night. A lil pricey. And surprisingly for such a small town, the food was good. It’s in a nice area where you could walk around town, after.

Never had sushi before, so I guess this was a good place to try it out. I ordered the steak Ramen and yellowtail rolls. Everything was presented beautifully and the food definitely exceeded my expectations. The waitress was very attentive, excited about the food, and generally pleasant to interact with. My sister and I were celebrating my birthday with a new experience for me, and I loved it. The waitress even ran after us to give my sister the leftovers of her burrito. That’s the kind of service that will keep people coming back. I highly recommend this restaurant even if you don’t think you’d be a fan of sushi.

The Caribbean bowl was tasteless. The wasn’t ripe and it was just spicy with wasabi sauce. Sad as I had had high hopes. Steak, rainbow and scallop rolls were tasty. The hot sake was mediocre. It was a decent temp, but the glasses trapped vapor and it gives you the feeling that you’ll sneeze as you take the last drink. The service was good and the owner asked how things were. Good service but the food needs some work.

The food was amazing. We had sushi, a poke bowl, gyoza, and egg rolls. They didn’t have hot green tea but they more than made up for it in the quality of food and service. The hostess was courteous and prompt. Our server was chipper, helpful, and quick. The chefs were working very hard with diligence and skill. You can tell they work hard at what they do and work well as a team even though they’re just starting. The menu is a little limited but I’m sure it will grow as time goes on. The owner came by and asked our feedback- he was working along side everyone while still checking in on the customers. The chairs are comfortable but slide a little easy. The atmosphere is classy modern with a dash of Japanese flair. Very cute. The bathrooms are very neat. Overall, this is a great addition to the downtown rockford area. Looking forward to coming back.

I made reservations for 2. We got there about 10 minutes before our reservation and were seated right away. My guest attempted to order a certain type of sake and they were out of a lot of options for that. We placed our food order about 5-7 minutes after being seated and did not get our food until about an hour later. Our server did not attend to us during that hour wait either. We ordered steak ramen and seafood ramen. Both had a delicious broth. The steak was tough and the lobster was a bit chewy. The place was not properly cleaned as well. The drink menu is made of metal and was sticky and has stains, so did the main menus. There were quite a bit of cobwebs and dust as well. Overall, it wasn’t the worst experience but I don’t think I’d revisit.

Great decor and atmosphere! It felt very chic and kind of upscale. I didn’t particularly care for the veggie ramen that I ordered, but they definitely gave me a heaping portion. The specialty roll that I ordered was delicious, but it was served on some sort of parchment paper on the plate which kind of clashed with the upscale vibe they were trying to achieve.
I wouldn’t classify this place as an authentic Japanese restaurant, but I would definitely recommend to a friend! Especially the sushi!
