I tried:
Zeus Burger $14.25
Fresh beef patty, peameal bacon, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, aged white cheddar cheese, Olympus bbq sauce, lettuce, tomato
Apollo Burger $13.25
Fresh beef patty, fried egg, peameal bacon, between two grilled aged white cheddar cheese sandwiches, lettuce, tomato
(+ $7.50 to make it a combo)
Olympus Poutine $9.95
Crispy bacon, caramelized onions, Ivanhoe cheese curds and Olympus beef gravy
Strawberry Milkshake $6.75
Zeus Burger was the best here, and there was some sweetness to it that I liked. If I were to go again, I’d just get this. Apollo was similar, but not as good. Poutine was okay only, and milkshake could have improved. Service here was spectacular; employees were very attentive and helpful despite this not being fine dining.
I’d recommend this place to anyone spending the day around the Port Hope area!
When we arrived, it was pretty quiet since it was 3pm on a cold, snowy day. The staff greeted us immediately, and were super nice.
I had the Hera burger and my husband had the Zeus. I’m super picky about onion rings and these might be my favourite I’ve ever had. They were super crispy and not over-breaded. In other words, they were perfect.
The fries were also delicious, so you’ll be happy no matter what side you choose.
Even once we had our food, despite the fact that this is seat-yourself, counter-order restaurant, the staff checked on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. I’d give the service a 6/5 if I could.
The food came out hot and super quick, and looked AMAZING.
We can’t wait to come back!! This is a MUST try! The prices are great, especially for how much food you get. I’m stuffed.
I must be an outlier, with all the good reviews (fake or real?) my review is not so good, average at best.
I’m old school, enjoy my burgers flattop grilled with a nice carmelized savory crust. 80/20 meat/fat ratio with a authentic beefy flavor.
The Zeus burger had none of the above. For the price, burger was small. Surprisingly the added peameal bacon did not add anything to the burger flavor profile.
I remember one honest review where the comment was ” it looks like a burger but doesn’t taste like a burger” that should have been a red flag to me.
To top it off, the sweet potato fries were burnt.
One saving grace of the staff were smiley, very nice and polite.
Goes to show, these “top ten, most delicious” lists should be taken with a grain of salt, let your palette be the final judge. My biased palette has spoken.
The inside was super clean and the customer service was excellent. Now on to the real meat and potatoes, the food!
The ice for the diet Pepsi was perfect, felt like I was drinking a slushie but absolutely refreshing in the best kind of way. The burger was very juicy and the fries were immaculate. I did wish that was a bit of salt on the fries, but you can adjust that since every table had salt and pepper. Additionally, I will say the bun is a bit small considering how much ingredients there is in the burger. It felt like it was insufficient even though it’s a very solid brioche.
It’s definitely a place I would want to stop by if I’m ever in this side of town. But one thing I will have to say is that the outside patio area could deal with a bit more barriers to ensure there’s some sort of windbreak. Being right along the shore does allow for high wind and can really be a bit of an upset. With the tweaks on the brioche and adding a bit of salt for the fries, it can definitely hold up to being in the top 20 best burger spots in the world!
We tried the Zeus Burger and the Artemis Burger. Both taste good to us. Zeus Burger is with a unique sauce. Artemis is good for people who want to stay fresh and clean (like people who are on diet). I really like the green veggie for the Artemis Burger.
The fries portion is really big. Two of us were sharing one fries and we get to take away (could be because we are asian).
