I was sadly disappointed in the quality of the food when we visited this weekend. I ordered American Chop Suey with a cup of pasta fagioli soup and a side salad while my wife ordered fried scallops with fries and coleslaw. My soup was over-salted and almost inedible. The salad was outstanding, the best part of the meal. The chop suey was very disappointing. The pasta was mushy and the sauce lacked seasoning and could have used more meat. My wife’s dish was also disappointing, as the scallops were kind of rubbery and tasteless. I tried them myself, and I have to agree with her assessment. We both had leftovers but they weren’t worthy of coming home with us. Too bad, I have enjoyed meals here previously. Food prices were good. My wife had a glass of white wine, which was a good value.

Outstanding little gem. The server was phenomenal. Friendly, courteous and remembered all orders with no notes to a T. The portions were generous and came with lots of sides. And they serve wine! Wonderful cozy time had by all in this restaurant. If you are coming to UConn or for competitions don’t miss it.

Was extremely disappointed with the food yesterday. The vegetables in both salads were not fresh, I still ate my salad. A friend with me had requested the house Italian (very bland) and after pouring it all over her salad and not liking it, she tossed it around, added salt and tried to give it some taste- when requesting to return it the server became verbally aggressive, showing she has no professionalism, and walked away while we were still trying to talk with her. She was literally accusing my friend of having already ate half of the salad when she took a total of 2 bites!! I actually picked the lettuce up with my bare hand to show her all the veggies were still on the bottom. It was very uncomfortable to get into a back and forth with the waitress at the family owned restaurant. The owner was standing at the register, watching from a distance and did not come over until I asked him to, he then came over and wanted to instantly let us know he took off the salad and some additional drinks. The worst part about this was that he did not want to address the issue, he scoffed at me when I talked about how rude the waitress was. He even tried to tell me I was rude for picking up the salad with my hand when I felt like I had no choice because I had to prove myself. It is a hostile, uncomfortable, and dirty, feeling environment. On top of all of this, the mozzarella sticks, Chicken tenders and french fries, chicken wings, and a pork sandwich (that you would think is pulled pork, but it was big fat pieces of pork chops slapped on a bun) were all gross. Really none of the food was enjoyable. Specifically soggy chicken wings and mild buffalo literally has no spice to it at all. Awful experience.

Looking for a Locals non chain eatery and found it here. We had a Shepherds pie and a meatloaf supper with Greenpeace and mashed potatoes with gravy. They were delivered after we finished our soup and salad. Chicken with rice and a side salad. Everything was tasty, the service was attentive without being bothersome. Portions were such that we each had a second meal and the pricing was fair. Great atmosphere, clean appearance and friendly staff. We will be back a ck.

This might actually be the best diner in a 5-mile radius. I haven’t felt that great about eating out anywhere in a while but their homemade mashed potatoes clam chowder and roasted pork were really great. Thank you for having me.

Very good dinner. Lasagna was too large to finish. As was the chicken parmigiana. Appetizer of seafood stuffed mushrooms was very good. Follow them on Facebook to get specials, hope they have grilled octopus again soon.

Atmosphere is clean, updated but still dated. Service was okay, friendly but absent minded. This restaurant serves old people food. NOTHING IS SEASONED. Due to quality and lack of seasoning, everything should be cheaper… 17 for bland dense meatloaf, mash and plain boiled green beans? cmon dude… the gravy was the best part and you didn’t even provide enough. Spent extra for the “homemade” blue cheese salad dressing and hardly had any blue cheese in it. It was mayo with a blue cheese essence, not an actual blue cheese dressing. I came here looking for an alternative to my go to spot (flavors get booring over time), unfortunately Olympic did not deliver. The pizza was OK, but too much cheese. A yeast dough which was decent but could use another day or two to get the yeast taste more subdued.
