I recently visited Olivo in Zamalek while on a trip from London , and it truly exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere has that perfect balance of chic and cozy, making it an ideal spot whether you’re going for a casual evening or a special night out.

I learnt a while ago not to have Italian food in Egypt because it is always salty. However, I wanted to try the restaurant because it looked nice in pictures. Olivo did a much better job at the food than any other Italian restaurant I have tried in Egypt. The ambience was just incredible. Peaceful and quiet with a glass of Omar Khayyam wine.

Great restaurant!! I highly recommend everyone. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The pizza was good. Honestly not super good but I was satisfied. Their special appetizer was pretzel that was really tasty!! Good for drinking place as well. Music and atmosphere were so nice!

Olivo is a small Pizza & Bar which I discovered years ago. It’s next to two hotels in the disttict Zamalek of Cairo.
Olivo has two spaces, a dimly lighted indoor space with bar, high tables and chairs sitting and an outdoor space with an outdoor bar, a long bench & chairs. The menu have small plates, salads, pizzas, cakes and dessert options. There is also a wide selection of alcoholic beverages besides soft drinks.
I usually prefer to order pizza and salad and I can attest that they are really successful with pizza. At the first bite you will instantly taste that quality and tasty ingredients are used at Olivo. The taste of the salad could be enhance by using a more delicious x-tra virgin olive oil.
My favorite pizza is ‘4 Stagioni’ with mozzarella, olives, mushroom, artichokes, smoked turkey and olives, which I remove because personally I prefer olives soaked in olive oil to olives soaked in brine.
Judging by the price segment and location next to hotels with international audience the service leaves much to be desired.
Olivo did not leave the impression that customer dialogue, customer service and customer satisfaction were a priority. Yes, taste good, but is it done? I cannot say that there is the ‘indispensable’ customer communication which is common in the service sector. This approach is unfortunately not available at Olivo, which tells me personally a lot about Olivo’s approach to its customers: Come-eat-pay-bye bye
The net prices are already in a higher price level, plus 14% taxes and 12% service,

Hands down the best pizza I’ve had in Cairo so far. Made fresh inside and you can watch the magic happen. Thin crust, good quality cheese, light tomato sauce that isn’t too acidic. Really great flavor combinations on the menu.
Finding this place is a little hard bc it’s inside the entrance to the New President Hotel, and just past a sign for a French bakery. Seating indoor or outside. Indoor seating has a nice intimate feeling.
Bar offers drinks specials including white, red and pink sangrias with fresh fruits. It’s always a good night for a tasty pizza and beverage. Thanks O.Liv.O!

This was not our first time at this nice little restaurant and we had the same great experience… the place specializes in pizza and they have perfected it … their pizza is thin and large enough for sharing … but I wouldn’t suggest that cause you will definitely want to keep every piece to yourself

Beautiful little joint – and when I say little, I mean it. Not suitable for big groups but extremely cozy for a small get-together or a date. The pizza is super tasty; we tried the vegetables and the sausage, both 10/10. We then had the lemon sorbet – there’s better, but it was still pretty good. The atmosphere helped us relax and have a great time, so I would definitely recommend.
