It was a truly delightful experience, having lunch at Olivios Trattoria. It’s a cozy little Italian spot tucked into a strip mall, but don’t let the location fool you—the food here rivals high-end Italian restaurants.

Usually the salmon with vegetables and a side of pasta is a perfect combination and every bite is outstanding. The salmon was perfectly seared on the outside while remaining moist and tender inside, with just the right hint of seasoning and citrus. The vegetables were fresh, lightly sautéed, and had great texture—clearly not an afterthought. As for the pasta? Cooked al dente, rich in flavor, and coated with a savory sauce that hit all the right notes. Everything felt homemade, not mass-produced.

The atmosphere was relaxed and warm, with attentive service that made the meal even more enjoyable. This place is a hidden gem for Italian food lovers in Simi Valley, and I definitely love to be there to try more dishes.

Highly recommended for a casual yet memorable Italian dinner.

Wonderful experience at this restaurant. Very special selection of foods. My wife’s Halibut was done to perfection and my chicken parmesan was great.

UPDATE: Since our original visit (and subsequent review), we have come here a few more times. What a difference a year makes! The food is still incredible; however, it has become abundantly clear that the real issue here is the quality of service: it is slow and indifferent. There is no excuse for a meal to take twice as long as it should be. Take-out may be a better option for this restaurant. Unfortunately, I’m dropping this rating two stars.

Wow. Just wow. The food here is excellent! This was arguably the best meal we’ve experienced in a long time. We had the Seafood Risotto and the Lobster Ravioli, and both were outstanding. Served with warm bread and a nice glass of wine, we shared one of the best Christmas Eves ever. To top it off, we ordered the rich chocolaty thing for dessert, and it, too, was to die for!

I must add, the service seemed a bit odd, at first. We made reservations, and we were seated immediately (no small feat for Christmas Eve); however, “seated” meant that the hostess simply pointed to our nearby table and said, “There’s your table. Have a seat and we’ll be right with you.” So we sat ourselves and soon received the menus. We ordered a bottle of wine, and when the waiter (a very friendly fellow) brought it, he simply left it on the table. My experience has been that the wait staff usually opens the bottle and pours the first glass. Good thing it was a screw top! In the end, I think the service was good, just a bit different than what we’re used to. Plus, it was the holidays, so I really only have one unusual data point. I’ll update this post if anything changes, ’cause we are definitely going back!!!

We enjoy going to Olivios as it is one of the most splendid Italian restaurants, anywhere especially in Simi Valley.

I really love the chicken Parmesan and the lasagna ! They have plenty of desserts too, including tiramisu. Service is always top notch and the prices are pretty good for such a fine restaurant.

I highly recommend this great place don’t be thrown by the small size of this strip mall restaurant. It is a gem.

The best Marinara sauce I have had on the west coast! So vibrant and full of flavor! Its not scorched! No bitterness from overcooked tomato sauce! Thank you! The chicken Marsala is divine…so smooth. The Chicken Picasa nice and tender. Tiramisu to tempt the tastebuds…superb. Service is spot on and very attentive. Look no further…this is it!

It has been several times that we come here, mostly for lunch, 4 or 5 times for dinner. The food is always outstanding, never a time that we weren’t satisfied with the food. However the waitress is always borderline rude and indifferent, even with our comments on how the food is always so good. Obviously she doesn’t care. I’ll always come back, however I’ll try to avoid her.

In town for family and ate here for the first time. Quiet and quaint on the patio. Didn’t feel rushed and the food was excellent. Wedge salad, chicken Picatta and Salmon.

Really delicious and the staff was really great!! It’s just a little pricey. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

The bread is delicious, the shrimp and scallops linguine was over sauced and the shrimp over cooked while the scallops were like rubber. The lasagna was not very good. When we entered there was no one else in the resturant and still the service was slow.
