My husband and I were celebrating our 56th anniversary. We came to Olivia’s for dinner. Our server was Olivia Osborne. She was a wonderful attentive server. She was always smiling. We were never rushed. We had been seated inside which we found very noisy but Olivia quickly seated us on the patio at a charming table for 2 right near the heater. It was awesome. We could see the fireplace and found it very cosy. The food was awesome, tasty, hot and delicious. Servings were ample. We were delighted with our evening dinner and service. We definitely will recommend and return.

The atmosphere is very relaxing, Cas was a wonderful server, the place is very clean, bright and relaxing. I had the vegetarian ravioli and could really taste how fresh the pasta was. It was served piping hot, which I love. My friend ordered the traditional spaghetti and meatballs, which served hot and he said absolutely delicious.
The fresh Parmesan cheese and black pepper complement it the meal perfectly. The menu itself is simple yet perfectly suited it to an authentic Italian restaurant, highlighting quality over quantity. Overall a delicious and satisfying dining experience.
We were there for lunch, and will definitely come back for an evening meal, and will try one of their Italian wines.
The outdoor patio looks so comfortable and classy.

An amazing dinner, great service and a delicious cocktail. We ordered the beet salad, fried calamari & 2 pasta’s. Each dis was beautiful to look at and delicious. The salad was generously plated and not overly dressed, calamari was perfect, light and crispy and the pasta was cooked beautifully. Really great surprise to have such a wonderful authentic Italian restaurant. Music, staff and space was great. Comfortable and friendly. Highly recommend.

I struggle with a rating as I have such mixed feelings.
We booked a reservation for four and we were seated on time with no issues.
We ordered lasagna (which was good but overall way too salty), the ravioli (no complaints), the gnocchi (large portion but the butter that they were cooked in over powered the sauce) and Ceaser Salad with chicken (overloaded on the dressing and chicken was slightly dry). There was no bread served with our dishes nor was it suggested we add it for an up charge to ensure we got bread. They waitress didn’t really share information on the menu as most “higher end” restaurants would.
The restaurant was decorated for Halloween which honestly took away from the Italian feel of the decor and restaurant.
Overall the food was good, but wasn’t overly impressed.

What a fantastic meal we had! We went for lunch and got the calamari, ravioli, pasta with rose sauce as well as tiramisu. Fresh in house made pasta, it was wonderful, service was great and the atmosphere was perfect. Just a small restaurant that is done perfectly.

Have visited for lunch, dinner and now breakfast. Every visit has been great, and the food delicious. The food isn’t greasy or heavy, yet still full of flavour. The omelette was fluffy and and not dripping in oil, and the addition of beans and fruit as a side as well as the potatoes hit the spot. Shared a waffle as well, and cannot recommend it enough. The patio outside is fantastic, and has the right ambiance.

Best Italian cuisine in the Grey-Bruce area, full stop. Federico and Cass have crafted a lovely little enclave in the village of Shallow Lake and their flavorful, authentic cuisine has already placed them squarely on the Grey-Bruce Foodie Map. Our first meal with them was during their soft-open week and every plate was on point. It was so good, we booked reservations for Mother’s Day, and the meals were even better. Friendly staff, solid menu, supporting wine list, amazing desserts are all worth your peruse and dining pleasure. Don’t forget to ask for some limoncello to finish the meal with finesse! I cannot recommend highly enough Olivia’s Ristorante — so very worth your patronage!

We tried the gnocchi with gorgonzola cream, lasagna bolognese, and fettuccine with mushrooms. all three were absolutely delicious.
The gnocchi was super creamy and soft, the lasagna was full of flavor, and the fettuccine had that perfect flavor. ✨

Olivia’s is going to make Shallow Lake a dinner destination! We had the most wonderful meal, and can’t wait to go back to try the rest of the menu! The renovations have turned this little diner into a beautiful date night venue. We started with bruschetta and Caesar salad – both were better than anywhere else. Then we had the spinach and ricotta ravioli and seafood linguine. We finished up with the chocolate hazelnut cake. So good! Cass is an absolute ray of sunshine and will bend over backwards to make your meal perfect, and Fredrico is a very talented chef (and truly Italian – even making his Nona’s meatballs and sauce). We are lucky to have them in our little village, and I already know what I want to try next time!
