Olivia Ramsalt

Social Profile:

Polished operation with outdoor tables offering stone-baked pizza & classic pasta dishes.

Nice warm ambience with lite music. It was a mid week but following days is public holiday. So the restaurant is Farley busy for a midweek. We had Arabbiata, pasta de Manzo, tenderloin fillet and a pizza. All are lovely and wholesome dishes nicely decorated and warmly presented. My special regards to the services person of my table John.

We were sat outside towards the water. The view is nice, but the speakers were right over our heads and the music was loud and not a very pleasant music choice. The service was alright. We were served by 4-5 different servers. Every time there was something delivered, or we spoke to staff, it was to someone new.
I had the Pollo Bianco pizza. Very nice flavor, but a bit dry and difficult to eat. The cornmeal also coats your hands if you choose to eat it that way. My partner had the beef and mushroom pasta. It was also a very good flavor, but there was too much oil in the sauce.

The food is okay – but for those prices I would expect a little better. The desserts are pretty good though. We were lucky enough to be seated outside by the water and it definitely contributed to the experience.

The gluten-free pizzas were a little disappointing and the pasta-dishes were nothing to write home about.

A VERY mixed bag !

This is a nice Italian restaurant, that has lots of pasta and pizza options, but only THREE secondi piatti options !

Some in our party wanted to avoid carbs, so opted for one of the secondi piatti options. Each of which contained potato, so they asked to have the potato removed. The server checked with the kitchen ? and returned to say “yes, the potato can be removed, but you will not receive extra vegetable or a replacement” :O

This is REALLY poor service. An extra spoonful of the spinach or other vegetable instead of the potato costs the restaurant close to NOTHING !

The food was VERY NICE. Everyone at our table enjoyed their dish.

As is the norm in Norway, the prices are HIGH ! but you’re in Norway and this ‘quality’ of restaurant demands 30-40 GBP for a secondi piatti dish, that was far from filling.

Service was VERY slow, but they were busy.

For all the above reasons, we wouldn’t return.

A good place for dinner and drinks. I had the prosciutto de Parma pizza with pine nuts and it was very good. Service was on point and friendly.

Very good food, but stick your guns to how you would like your meat done. Perfectly cocked steak is not well done, and o me at least. But super tasty and superb otherwise

We first stumbled upon Olivia when we got to Bodø and we’re looking for a place to eat. Olivia was one of the very few restaurants that was open around lunchtime. Glad we walked in. We had a great frittata. This restaurant is fairly new to Bodø, but was packed with tourists and locals. We left the following day to Lofoten.

Had to come back to Olivia when we returned to Bodø. This time we came for dinner. I was definitely craving some good Italian food.

We were quite hungry after a full day of hiking. Our waiter recommended a few of his favorite appetizers. We had Focaccia sarda (focaccia stuffed with cheese. Nom) Fried artichoke and a nice big Antipasto plate.

I had the linguine di mare and it was delicious. We also had a few pizzas.

Overall- great service and ambiance. The lighting was spot on as was the music. Our waiters were very friendly.

We left full and happy. Glad we found this place. We were quite happy to learn that Olivia has several restaurants in Norway. We will be on the lookout for Olivia in Oslo.

Disappointed in the pizza. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful inside, and it’s overlooking the water, we went at sunset because the sky was amazing, but they sat us on the street/sidewalk side, no view, they said the back was closed. I can completely understand closing half the restaurant on a slow night but they chose the wrong side to close!! I mean you have this million dollar view, and you close it off, and only use the street view??!! poor decision. Good cocktails though!
