Classic American breakfast & lunch plates served in an old-fashioned diner with booths & a counter.

10/10 You get large portions for good prices, the food is delicious, and the staff is very friendly. I love the ascetic and old time diner feel.

I’ve been to the St. Louis area twice in my life. Olivette is the new-to-me area on my second visit. I have now eaten at Olivette Diner twice in 2 days for breakfast.
We found it thanks to reviews and I will work it in on every subsequent trip.
It is obvious a place that regulars go. That always tells me a restaurant’s staff is good and the food better.
Malinda and her staff are welcoming, attentive, and you won’t leave hungry. You can even get a Coke to go! I’m sure there are other beverages, but Coke is my jam and Olivette Diner and Malinda filled me up.
I’m also a chili girl. My chili both days was exactly what I wanted, though I added a grilled cheese the second day.
I can’t eat eggs, but my goodness the breakfast options looked good.
Cash is king. We will definitely be back.

This place is exactly what you picture when you think of a “diner.” Very friendly atmosphere and great server. We had a long wait time because they were busy but she gave us an extra piece of pie which was sweet.

Olivette Diner has what you would expect from a diner. The food is standard, I premise made food. The quality of the food is average for dinners. I believe they do not take credit cards, we paid in cash, so i could be wrong. The diner has a homey, regular patrons atmosphere. I would return but I do prefer the experience of coffee shops more, even though you will pay more at the coffee shop of equal amounts of food.

YUM! I have driven by this place a million times (ok maybe a thousand) and finally stopped in today and now I am regretting not going in sooner. It was shortly before 11 am on a Thursday and the place was packed! That was my first sign it must be good, and it sure was, the French toast is absolutely amazing!! Bring cash or a check, they don’t take credit cards.

Fantastic old style diner. Been here forever.
Amazing staff. Totally friendly and accommodating to customers.
Food was really solid. Three eggs with the corn beef hash. Great buttered, whole wheat toast.
Remember cash or check only no credit cards! The heck with those darn credit card companies!
For the eggs, Benedict. Yum.

My partner and I got a late start to the day and wound up here right as church was letting out. We were met with friendly and quick service and phenomenal food. My crab cakes benedict was outstanding, the coffee was hot and fresh, and my partner enjoyed their hot hash and holly immensely. Good sourdough toast as well.

There’s only one thing wrong with Olivette Diner, and it’s that you have to pay with cash. Otherwise, every single menu item is delicious, made with love, and hits the spot.
Signs of a good breakfast? Messy shirts and empty plates.
Today the hubby ordered the slinger with ham instead of hamburger patties and I had the Hot Hash & Holly with bacon instead of ham, hash browns well done. Highly recommend both.
If you have a sweet tooth, the bananas foster waffles will remind you to get checked for diabetes–and the diagnosis would be entirely worth it. Melt in your mouth ooey gooey deliciousness.
Basically you can’t go wrong at Olivette Diner. Great folks working their tails off for food worth the ATM fee (ATM on site ).
Happy dining.

We’ve been here a few times but we brought my dad in for the first time today and he loved it! He likes the small town diners back in central Illinois so he really enjoyed this place. The food is always good. Service is great. Coffee keeps getting refilled. The wait for a table isn’t too bad. It’s just a great local place to go for breakfast!!!

It was my first time visiting the dinner, you can tell that there’s a lot of regular customers that has been going there for a long time, and the food was delicious! And it was fun sitting at the counter and watching the cooks work in zinc with each as they prepare the food orders.
