Oliver’s is a quintessential American diner. From the layout, seats at the bar, vintage decor, and booths it’s what you expect at a diner. The menu is very large and you’re sure to find something you like. Breakfast is served all day! Food is made after you order but even at that it is a wait. Nothing quick about it. Inexpensive food for the portions. Food quality was average; literally what you expect from a diner. Nothing impressive or out of the ordinary. Wonderful place to visit and friendly staff

So I ordered the steak breakfast. Not expecting much. But it was really really good. Our waitress was awesome. Never ran out of coffee or drinks for the family. Definitely not your upscale Ritz joint. Just that good ol’ country small town vibe. Food has good flavor. Not bland like nursing home food you get when you visit the grandparents. Lol and the price is great

Breakfast was brought right to our room at the Black Swan Inn, which was super convenient. Service was quick and friendly. My pancakes were a little dry for my taste, but the hot chocolate was absolutely amazing—rich and comforting. My husband really enjoyed his breakfast and said the coffee was great. Overall, it was a nice touch to our stay!

I’ve passed by Oliver’s for years, but never had the time to actually stop in and order. I finally did and treated my group of four to dinner. No wait time for seating, you just pick a comfy spot. The booths are clean, comfortable, and retro. A fine selection of oldies tunes through the sound system sell the retro diner feeling and help out you at ease. As they serve breakfast all day, I had Huevos Rancheros and coffee. Fast, tasty coffee and the huevos were savory with the eggs just the way I asked. The fruit included with the dish was also fresh, sweet, and perfectly sized. My group also requested mozzarella sticks and fried green beans for appetizers. I particularly loved the breading on both of these!
Other dishes we had were the sirloin steak with daily soup (veggie and beef), omelette, and spaghetti with sausage. Everyone is impressed with the quality and sizing of portions. Not a single mark against the food, only positives! Afterwards, I had the slice of apple pie with a scoop of huckleberry ice cream. A delectable dessert!
Our waitress, Dana, was also friendly and accommodating. She seemed to have a sixth sense for whenever we needed something or had a request for desserts.
I will definitely be visiting Oliver’s again and I hope to try many more dishes from the menu!

Prior to going to Olivers for my first time, I heard that they aren’t that good. However, I had a great experience. There’s a sign at the front door saying that this isn’t a fast food restaurant and that everything is made fresh. That sure is true. The food can take a while to be made, but everything is made in house. I went with a family member and they got the cheeseburger and you can tell that the burger was made fresh from ground beef and that the hamburger bun was made in house. The burger is huge! They said the burger was amazing. I may have to try their one pounder burger. They also said that the house cut french fries are especially good. I tried some of and indeed they were very good. I ordered the house club sandwich with onion rings. I was very impressed with the sandwich having lots of meat, the bacon and turkey. It was very filling and the onion rings were OK. They may have sat a little bit and weren’t very warm but they still tasted good. For my little man, we got him the French toast and sausage. I don’t think it was worth it for the price, but he enjoyed it and ate it all, so that’s what it matters the most. If you’re looking for a restaurant that makes everything in house and you’re not in a rush, or just want to spend time with who you’re dining with and chat. Oliver’s is the right place for you to eat at. I recommend Oliver’s restaurant.

I had the turkey dinner there a few times. Last time was Friday night. Fantastic! The chef had the black coat and I thought he would make a great plate. I was right he did. One other time I had the turkey not so much but Friday was great!

I’ve been going to Oliver’s for close to 30 years, it’s Pocatello staple. The menu is huge, some items are a bit weird, but overall it’s a solid little diner. My favorite is the Cobb Salad and vegetarian chili over potatoes. Service is always decent, the same guys have been cooking there since I can remember, decent vegetarian options, good coffee and breakfast.

Biggest issue is cold food, it happens regularly. Today, to my surprise, I spent $50 on a breakfast sandwich, omelet, home fries and two drinks. That’s a bit steep imo, even in our current economic situation.

The service was excellent. Our server offered suggestions, and we took them.
The cheeseburger was the best burger that I have had, in quite some time. The meat was juicy, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Served with batteries fries…
We also had the French dip sandwich, with onion rings. My husband stated that it was “really good”. That means he loved it.
Upon arrival, the place looks a little aged and could use a bit of a face lift.
This restaurant used to be a Sambo’s (oh how my memories wander back to my childhood, mentioning that) and then Oliver’s has been there for 37 yrs.
One side of the restaurant is sit down (white table clothes) and the other side is booths and counter seating.
This place was Recommended by a few locals.
Whatever they are doing…keep it up! I highly recommend Oliver’s!
