First time here and first Chicago dog. It was very good and interesting. Next trip I’ll try the regular dog or a chilli dog. The hotdog itself was excellent, the Vienna hotdog meat has a great taste. And they offer a military discount, thank you! We’ll be back.

What quaint little restaurant downtown! Hubby told me about this place so yes, gotta go and have lunch. Ordered the Eggplant Parm sandwich and Hubby ordered the Italian Beef Sandwich dipped and all the stuff that goes on it. We had to try the Chili Cheese Fries as well. All I can say is this is a MUST TRY place! Roll up your sleeves and just dive in because it can get messy. With all the fresh ingredients working together, it’s like an explosion of flavor. Nice change from the typical sandwich shops all over town. We’ll be back since I was going to get a dog but couldn’t resist when I saw the Eggplant Parm on the menu. Friendly and courteous staff having no problem asking/explaining to the hubby the difference in how he wanted his sandwich. Excellent place!

I came to Oliver’s Chicago Deli in Montgomery with a few friends who had never experienced authentic Chicago-style food, and it was an absolute treat. I ordered an Italian beef with sweet peppers, mozzarella, and giardiniera (wet), along with a combo, three pizza puffs, and three Chicago dogs. Every bite was flavorful, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. The beef was juicy, tender, perfectly seasoned, and dripping with bold flavor, while the Chicago dog had that classic, snappy bite that makes it unmistakably Chicago. The pizza puffs were crispy, golden, cheesy, and absolutely delicious—my friends couldn’t stop raving about them.
The atmosphere was warm, nostalgic, and packed with Chicago charm, with all the memorabilia making you feel like you stepped right into the Windy City. The only drawback was the pricing. At $8 for a dog, $12 for beef, and $6 for a pizza puff, it’s definitely pricier than what you’d pay back in Chicago, where they’re usually $3–$4. That said, I get that bringing this kind of authentic, high-quality Chicago comfort food to Alabama likely drives the cost up.
Overall, the experience was fantastic, memorable, and full of bold Midwestern flavor. The food was spot-on and nostalgic, and it instantly reminded me of home. I’m so glad Montgomery has a place like this, and I’ll absolutely be coming back every time I’m in the area!

Genuinely the best hotdog I have ever had! I visited Oliver’s with my family for a quick snack, and we ended up ordering 6 Chicago dogs and a Chili dog because they were incredible. The owner, Mike, even sat down with us while we ate, describing his Chicago roots and his passion behind creating the restaurant. The atmosphere is great. The service was quick and friendly. I could not recommend Oliver’s more. I will be back tomorrow to fill out the rest of my hotdog card! Thank you Mike!

We loved the Chicago dogs! Definitely up there with dogs from the Windy City! The fries were hot and crispy! Next time we’re trying their Italian beef sandwich. Although our dogs were delicious, we saw a guy eating the Italian beef and it was a huge sandwich. Definitely returning during our next trip to Montgomery! Highly recommend!

I went in to try the Windy City Classic Combo and I am glad I went in hungry! Chili cheese fries were hot and crunchy, the hotdog had such a great flavor where no one ingredient overpowered the other they all just worked perfect together, and fried apple pie was so soft and flaky. Definitely will be back and bringing my appetite! Service was very friendly and parking was easy to find.

I’ve had a few customers fly in from Chicago and ask if I would recommend Oliver’s but honestly I could only say that I’ve never been. Today I decided to go after reminiscing with friends about living in Chicago. The customer service was on point she was building rapport, and engaged with everyone. I ordered a Italian beef all the way, dipped, with a Pepsi. To my surprise mozzarella cheese was added(not complimentary) but I figured I’ll try. I also saw on the receipt I was charged a delivery fee for a take out order but I thought since she says it is better than AL’s in Chicago, it’s cool. The sandwich was regular sized for the price of a jumbo beef, the bread was wet but the meat was not, and lastly the cut of meat doesn’t not seem to be the same as Chicago Italian beef. I don’t want to assume but it tastes like package meat. Definitely not the slow cooked, thin sliced rump roast and dipped in the gravy it was cooked in sandwich I expected. All and another employee jokingly stated it was better than Arby’s and I concur it is better than Arby’s.

Was in town visiting my brother (Mike Oliver the owner), and during my visit had the Chicago dog, beef sandwich, and eggplant sandwich. All were delicious! Just like at home in Chicago. Great Chicago related memorabilia on the walls. A wall to sign if you’re from Chicago, a board to add a picture of your dog, and a place for your kids to add their coloring art. Get over to Oliver’s soon and support a Montgomery small business!

Stopped by Oliver’s for a quick bite and was blown away! The chili cheese hot dog was loaded with flavor; rich, hearty chili and just the right amount of cheese. The sauerkraut dog was tangy, savory, and perfectly balanced. The lady at the counter was incredibly helpful and inviting, answering all my questions with a smile. Great food and even better service. I’ll definitely be back!

We got Olivers just on a whim because a hot dog and something affordable sounded good. Oh boy, it was something I had no idea I was getting myself into. We ordered a plain hot dog, a chili cheese dog, a Chicago dog, fries and an Italian Beef. The Italian beef’s flavoring and texture was impeccable. I’ve never had something taste that good, and everyone in my family had to have a bite and try it. Every hot dog was gone in record time. Even the bread alone is delicious and that’s hard to come by- who’s ever heard of a hot dog bun being just as good as the rest of the hot dog? The fries were another nothing to ignore. Hot, salty, flavorful, they were exactly what fried tasted like when we were younger and people weren’t scared to make good food. I love this place, and I’m going to 100% become a loyal customer. It helps that we were given a hot dog card count card towards a feee one! 10/10 experience and enjoyment.
