I recently dined at Oliver Royale for Valentine’s Day, and the experience was absolutely beautiful from start to finish.
We ordered the lamb, burger, and swordfish — and each dish had its own highlight. The lamb was incredible — tender and literally falling off the bone, full of rich flavor and cooked perfectly. The burger was cooked medium well and still unbelievably juicy, which is not easy to do. It was flavorful, satisfying, and paired perfectly with the fries. The swordfish was cooked wonderfully with a great texture, though I do think it could have used just a touch more seasoning to really elevate it.
For dessert, we had their traditional Valentine’s Day chocolate mousse with raspberry topping and whipped cream — and it was the perfect sweet ending to the evening. Light, rich, and balanced with just the right amount of tartness from the raspberry.
Our wine, La Favorita Reggiano Lambrusco, was recommended by Haley, and she absolutely nailed it. It paired beautifully with our meal. Haley and Alexis both took amazing care of us — attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. Their service truly made the night feel special.
Overall, it was a romantic, elevated dining experience, and I would definitely return. Oliver Royale continues to impress! ✨

I always enjoy this restaurant. The beef short rib is delectable — I love it on the pasta best, but tried the one on polenta with greens and Tabasco gastrique this time. Not too spicy! Yay! The “A Daisy if Ya Do” cocktail is not too sweet, not too sour, juuuust right. Hubby’s lamb shank was even better! Great service from Austin, too. The room is a bit loud when the restaurant is full; that’s the only drawback. Highly recommend it!!

Went there for my birthday reservation lastnight. The service was excellent! BIG SHOUT OUT TO SPENCER ️. He was very attentive and the food came out in time and was perfectly done! The atmosphere was amazing! The Confit Pork Belly and Rock Shrimp Fritters were a great starter “chefs kiss” The Fettuccine Bolognese and the Maine Lobster Pappardelle was perfect It’s a great spot but my only low key disappointment was the fact that they were unable to pipe “happy birthday” for my planned dessert. It’s something they don’t do . Heading to another restaurant tonight to try to continue with my tradition of desserts with happy birthday on the plate. corny you may say but other than that, I appreciate what they have to offer with the overall service. Thank you! ☺️

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this charming establishment, and I must say, it was an experience that delighted all the senses.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the dessert pictured above—a beautifully plated creation that struck the perfect balance between artistry and flavor. The smooth, custard-like centerpiece was delicately infused with tropical notes, complemented by a bright, silky sauce and tart pops of raspberry coulis. Fresh raspberries added both a vibrant color and a welcome acidity to offset the sweetness. The elegant garnish—thin, crisp shards—provided a satisfying textural contrast that tied everything together.
Presentation here is taken seriously, and it shows. The dessert looked almost too beautiful to eat, served in a deep blue ceramic bowl that enhanced the vivid colors of the dish. Every detail felt intentional and refined.
Beyond the food, the ambiance was warm and inviting. Dim lighting and understated decor created an intimate atmosphere perfect for a relaxed evening out. Service was attentive without being intrusive—staff were happy to answer questions and share recommendations, making the experience feel personal and unhurried.
Overall, this restaurant excels at delivering thoughtful, creative cuisine in a setting that feels both sophisticated and comfortable. Whether you’re a dessert lover or simply looking for an elevated dining experience, I highly recommend paying them a visit.

Went in for brunch. We lucked out and were able to grab some seats at the bar since we were informed it was by reservations for that day. The selection at the bar is impressive.
If you are fan of cinnamon rolls, highly recommend. Also tried their crab eggs Benedict and it did not disappoint.

Me and all of my foodie friends all agree this is the BEST restaurant in Knoxville hands down. With a food and cocktail menu that rotates seasonally, this amazing dining spot never ever gets old. Definitely reservation required unless you snag a spot at the bar. There is no hope of walking in on any night of the week without a reservation and getting a table. Which just hammers home how good this place is. Every time the menu changes we have to make sure we see what they have to offer. Never once been disappointed. One time they brought me the wrong drink but it was better than what I had even ordered and they still brought me the correct one. Great service! The hostess is always so kind. The bartenders are great at mixing up something off menu for you. If you don’t go anywhere else in Knoxville, make sure you go to The Oliver.

The best chicken and grits I’ve ever had. Went for brunch so cannot speak to their lunch or dinner menu. But their brunch was delicious. Crepe’s were also fantastic a mixture of sweet and savory within the same crepe. Truly delicious food!

We went here for brunch before driving back home to Birmingham after visiting a girlfriend that just moved to Knoxville. We were very happy with our experience. The bloody mary’s were delicious and everything we ate was very good! Austin was our server and did a fantastic job. He was very attentive. The restaurant itself is very sleek and well-decorated. I loved all of the green tile and the light fixtures. They also give you an “Oliver Royale” postcard with your check!

This is the best restaurant in Knoxville. It’s our favorite! The food is sublime, the service is extremely attentive and professional, and when the weather is nice, it’s very nice sitting out on the covered veranda. However, It’s VERY EXPENSIVE! That’s why we’ve only been there a few times. So, if you have plenty of cash or it’s a very special occasion, it’s worth it! If you’re watching your pennies, you may want to try one of the other, less expensive restaurants on the square. Despite the price, I still give it 5 stars, absolutely!

Reservation recommended. We showed up for lunch and ouch, an hour wait but the bar was wide open so we had brunch. Smoked salmon Benedict and Breakfast bowl. Delicious . Katie, the bartender was attentive and friendly. Would come back for dinner sometime.
