The dog days are officially over, transitioning from Mediterranean dining to the savory season, and I had a taste for Italian fare this evening. My go-to choices are Pazzo Pomodoro (Vienna) for premium casual dining, or Bellissimo (Fairfax City) and Roberto’s (Vienna) for fine Italian dining. But I decided to take a chance on Olive Garden, a casual dining option, not expecting it to reach elevated flavors and at a much lower price point.
I haven’t been here in decades. Though the location is at the congested intersection of International Drive and Leesburg Pike, the restaurant is surprisingly easy to access because of its corner location and ample parking. The hostess and server were efficient and professional. I found the atmosphere relaxed, and the restaurant was notably clean.
I ordered minestrone soup, spaghetti and meatballs, a glass of the house Chianti, and I asked about getting some ciabatta or other rustic bread. The minestrone soup was light and bland. The bread looked like miniature baguettes, but the interior was soft and smooth, seeming to be made of highly processed white flour. Somehow, garlic was incorporated into the crust, which I found unappealing. I took one bite and pushed it aside. The meatballs and spaghetti were also bland but not as dull as the minestrone soup. The Chianti was passable, and it would have been more enjoyable with ciabatta.

Very large, clean restaurant. Everything is reasonably priced. Service is attentive. Large servings, free drink refills. Lots of free parking. Lots of bread sticks. Comfortable seating. But the salad did not seem fresh and the food was bland. ♿️

Just your average Olive Garden experience. The food was good. Service was not bad. The set up of this particular olive gardening is not very inviting. The food was brought out at a slightly like warm temperature. Overall, we had a fine experience and everything tasted fine. Olive Garden is super affordable and we love the all you can eat breadsticks.

I’ve been to Olive Garden back in the day and it’s pretty much the same. The drinks were great. The service was great. I think the servers name was Ed. Great guy, great service. I would ask for a table in his section.

Olive Garden has always been one of my favorite go-to restaurants. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, perfect for a relaxing meal with family or friends. I absolutely love the breadsticks — they’re always warm, soft, and impossible to stop eating! The pasta dishes are consistently delicious, with generous portions and great flavor. Whether it’s the classic fettuccine alfredo, the lasagna, or their seasonal specials, I’ve never been disappointed. Plus, the soup and salad combo is a nice option when you want something lighter. Definitely a reliable spot for a satisfying Italian meal.

Amazing food.. Really loved everything I ate there.. My server, Angel, was also very nice person and I just went with his recommendations for vegetarian food. Very limited vegetarian options in the menu though but what I ordered, they all turned up so yum. The 5 cheese ziti pasta comes along with a big bowl of minstrone soup, which was a tomato soup with beans and veggies and was so flavourful. I’ve never had such a tasty soup earlier. It’s worth all the money spent and the portions were more for 1 person so you can order just one dish and have a soulful & stomach full meal as well. Plus the service was really quick and the food was served hot!! Definitely recommend this restaurant!!

Marcelo did amazing he was great. I have a newborn and he was so fast with his service on top of being great with other tables. I get that this is a chain but the food was good the prices were great and Marcelo did better than at those fancy restaurants. That’s why I gave him a good tip and why I’m leaving this review. Thanks Marcelo and Olive Garden for hiring him.

Salad always hits the mark. Breadsticks felt a tad dry but we chewed through two baskets between my wife and I. Our entrees were decent nothing to write home about spaghetti, meatballs, and lasagna. also my margarita was good sized but under poured still even with the barely meeting expectations flavors. The service was great and I will be returning and asking for Marcelo ahead of being seated. You may do the same if you’re smart.
