As an out-of-towner, I stopped to look at the menu outside just as the owner was at the door. He welcomed me in, told me all about their fresh, organic ingredients, and the history of his restaurant. I ordered the best chicken parmesan I’ve ever eaten and took half home since the portion was huge. The interior of the restaurant is amazing…check out their formal room at the rear of the space. What an incredible place for an event!
Can you tell how much I loved it?!

My husband and I went to support a friend and his former student who was performing for jazz night. I felt like I was instantly transcended back to the 1930’s. The beautiful staircase, round booths and general atmosphere were stunning and just what I have been looking to find in Baltimore. It was a limited menu for the evening so we didn’t get a true taste for the regular menu. Although, what we did have was delicious, and the chocolate mousse alone deserves five-stars.
This place is a true diamond in the rough. We are definitely planning to go back so we can try other items on the menu.

Offensively high pricing for offensively cost-cutting food. Plates are either far too small or far too basic for the premium price, resembling airplane food, such as $14 for a “salad” that’s just iceberg lettuce. Drinks were okay. Overbearing looming owner presence is creepy and uncomfortable, while staff made no effort to bring our food and drinks out at the same time, sometimes with minutes between party members. Gorgeous location made awkward and not at all worth it by deeply uncomfortable, out-of-touch, baby boomer priorities of a customer experience. We felt peer pressured and ripped off the entire time and couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Never again.

I visited this restaurant with friends to celebrate a 23rd birthday and the experience was extremely disappointing. We had a 6:30 PM reservation for 13 and were seated immediately, but had to wait for menus because they only had about 15 total. The original assigned host was “intimidated” and never approached our table, so the manager had to take our orders. After ordering, the food came out very slowly, one plate at a time, so no one ate together. Two people in our party never received food at all. After three hours, we decided to leave.
The manager offered a discount, which we appreciated, but only chef/ owner disagreed. A gifted birthday bottle of champagne was later snatched back by the owner, which was embarrassing. The owner also accused the two guests who never received food of lying. While we waited to pay the adjusted amount, the trashy bartender with blue and green hair made corny jokes that no one found funny.
The manager was professional, but the owner and bartender made the overall experience upsetting. We came to celebrate and support the business but left feeling disrespected. For special occasions, especially larger African American groups, I would recommend considering Black owned options.

I recently took my girlfriend to olio’s and had an amazing experience. I ordered the surf and turf and the waiter was kind enough to offer lamb as a replacement for the filet minion as they were out. The service was great and even the two pieces of broccoli that came with my meal were cooked perfectly. And the interior is beautiful and they let us take a look at their ballroom.

I recently visited this restaurant with a group of friends to celebrate my friend’s 23rd birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.
We had a 6:30 PM reservation for a party of 13 and were seated immediately, which we appreciated. However, we then had to wait just to receive menus because the restaurant only had about 15 menus total. After finally getting menus and placing our orders, the service quickly went downhill.
The food came out extremely slow, one plate at a time, so no one was eating together. For a birthday dinner, that completely ruined the experience. Even worse, two people in our party never received their food at all. After sitting there for nearly three hours, we decided it was best to just leave.
The manager initially tried to make things right by offering a discount for the inconvenience, which we appreciated. However, the chef and owner disagreed with accommodating us and made it very clear. My friend was gifted a bottle of champagne for his birthday, and it was later snatched back from him. That was embarrassing and unnecessary.
To make matters worse, the owner accused the two individuals who never received food of lying and claimed they had been served. That was incredibly unprofessional. While we were waiting in line to pay the adjusted amount, the trashy bartender with blue and green hair was making corny jokes that no one found funny, adding insult to injury.
The original host who was supposed to take care of our table never even approached us, so the manager had to step in and take our orders instead. The manager handled the situation professionally, but unfortunately, the bartender and the owner created a very negative experience for our entire group.
We came to celebrate and support the business, but left feeling disrespected and disappointed. For anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion, especially larger African American groups, I would strongly recommend considering other black owned options. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to this restaurant 0/10!!!!

This was my first experience dining at Olio’s. I sat at the bar, and my bartender Steven was excellent. He was attentive and made excellent recommendations. We got the pizza and a veal meatball appetizer. Both were absolutely delicious and I will be back again.

We recently tried Olio, and the experience was spectacular. The service was impeccable and attentive without being overbearing and the staff made us feel right at home. From the outside, you’d never guess how charming and polished it is inside, but once you walk in, it’s impressive.
We ordered the crab bisque, burrata, and chicken parm. Everything was delicious, but the chicken parm absolutely stole the show—flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked. The spaghetti alongside tasted freshly made, which really elevated the dish.
We live in the neighborhood and have already decided this will be our new go-to spot. Honestly, the meal was better than places I’ve been to in Little Italy. If you’re looking to try something new, make Olio your next stop, you won’t be disappointed.

What an awesome spot! The food is really delicious and the staff is warm and welcoming! We stopped in on a Sunday night about an hour before they were closing and the owner himself gave us a tour of the entire place, sharing the history of the building and fun facts about some of the antique pieces he’s acquired over the years – like the incredible chandelier in the middle of the restaurant. The food is stellar. The crab bisque was delicious. Caesar salad is awesome. The garlic bread is a must. We had the shrimp fra diavolo and rigatoni with vodka sauce – both incredible. The bartender was lovely and attentive. We can’t wait to go back & spread the word about this place to our friends!

It’s a Bad experience from our group. Saturday night around 7:30pm and not too many people inside. We placed our food orders and we didn’t get them for a long time. One of the orders had a hair. The other order, the shrimp were under cooked and hard to cut. The other food order was missing a vegetable item and from which our server didn’t tell us and we have to address it. Not a good experience at all.
