Another eatery we had not been to before so we gave it a try. This place was very busy with people watching various college football games on the numerous TV’s and service was still top notch. Just as so many places today, it appeared as though there was only one server, Daniel, on our side of the dining room and this guy hustled. Drinks came out quickly – Sodas ($2.75) and a house Irish Red tap beer ($3.00). The Irish Red was tasty, more malt flavor and less hoppy. Tasty enough for me to have a few. We started with the Bavarian Pretzel Sticks appetizer ($10.99). Four pretzel logs, cut in half, served with a cup of cheese sauce and a slightly zippy brown mustard. A nice soft pretzel chew and the cheese and mustard added to the flavor. They were good, but eleven bucks for basically 4 stretched out pretzel rolls is too pricey in my opinion. My wife had the Grilled Salmon ($18.99). The plate had a nice salmon portion, perfectly grilled, topped with a marvelous mango salsa. Joining the salmon was a broccoli/carrot medley and slightly flavorful rice. My wife is a salmon fan and this was really good. I chose the Caribbean Cuban sandwich and glad I did. An excellent Cuban, but they sub in pulled pork versus pork roast slices. The ham, swiss, pickles, pork and mayo-mustard blend were perfect in the pressed crisp outside, tender inside roll. A very generous mound of crispy, tasty fries and a pickle spear join the sandwich. I ended up eating all of the fries and bringing half the sandwich home. Made for a great lunch the next day. The menu is quite extensive with many options is the various categories. I’m sure everyone in your party can find something good here. We’ll go back for sure.
January 2023: After more than 3 months of our steady support of this bar and grill, l feel it deserves an updated review.
It is by far the best option near us. The food has gotten sooooo much better that can not be considered as “bar food” anymore,
the presentation of their dishes, the details of the Chef are first class. Salads are crisp and fresh, fish is delicious and affordable. The grouper bites are great and the price of $8.00 makes them a must, l like mine blackened. But on Wednesday l ordered the Ahí Tuna cocktail and l was so pleasantly surprised l will share a pic with you. This appetizer along with a glass of bubbly deserves special recognition to the Chef
The staff is experienced and very friendly, specially bartenders Mario and Grant. Brian the owner is a lovely person. Congratulations from Norma and the gang!
