A worthwhile recommendation from the Boston Michelin guide!! We had heard about Oleana many times and decided to try it for my husband’s birthday, and it was an absolute delight!

The waitress was extremely knowledgeable about which dishes to get and recommended some of their longest standing dishes like the Fatteh and Sultan’s delight. The Fatteh was amazing – a mix of wonderful textures and flavors. We also got the topik which was so interesting and different than anything we’ve ever had and very delicious. Next, we ordered the scallops which were cooked to perfection in a light and mild cream sauce. The ricotta dumplings were not my favorite in terms of texture (I was expecting a softer filling), but the sauce and mushrooms were delightful. The fried perch was so nice and the roasted brussels sprouts were perfection. The sultans delight was tender and flavorful as well! I don’t know if it’s customary to order rice or some sort of bread/pita, we didn’t, but I think it would’ve been a nice addition. We finished with the chocolate basque cheesecake which was DIVINEEE. We would and immediately did recommend Oleana to our friends!

Oleana is a neighborhood gem! Their unique and outstanding flavors are what we crave whenever we dine here. The Zatar bread is soft and delicious, great with the hummus bites and spreads. The lamb moussaka served in the delicata squash was so flavorful and sweet. The quail and deviled eggs are some of our usual favorites. Our meal always ends with the baked Alaska. It’s quite sweet, especially with the passion fruit sauce, but the whole combination of burnt meringue, ice cream and coconut cookie bottom is great.

The restaurant vibe is quaint and relaxed. The outdoor patio turns into a calm snowscape during the winter. Only complaint is that whenever the front door opens, there’s a bit of a cold draft through the restaurant. We arrived early one time before 5:30 and were told to wait outside in the cold until they officially open, which was not great.

Service is efficient. Overall, we always enjoy dining here and very much appreciate the creativity and flavors of the food.

Delicious Mediterranean small platter sharing restaurant! The dishes are small but so rich and creative in flavor. Good place to be with 2-3 people, and recommend taking 2-3 platters per person. Many options for vegetarians too. Cosy interior and excellent service!

We had a great meal here. Four of us shared nine dishes plus two desserts, and everything was delicious. One of the desserts I remember especially was kunafa, not sure about the exact spelling. I wish I knew how to use night mode on my phone, because better photos would have made this review even more vivid.

The food was absolutely worth the price, and I really loved the interior design and overall atmosphere. It’s definitely a place I’d like to visit again. The only downside was that the lighting indoors during dinner was quite dim. I noticed more than one table using their phone flashlights to read the menu. I personally couldn’t see each dish clearly either, but the food still tasted great. (1/22)

Highly recommended! The space is stunning, and the staff took the time to genuinely guide us through the menu. It’s small plates, so plan on ordering 2-3 per person.

Surprisingly, the vegetarian dishes completely outshone the meat. The Topik, Spinach Falafel, and Halloumi were absolute standouts (10/10). Conversely, the Vermont Quail Kebab (6.5/10) and Lamb Bucatini Pastitsio (6/10) fell flat; I’d skip those next time.

For dessert, the Maple Dumpling (10/10) is non-negotiable, and the Kunefe (10/10) is excellent, but pass on the Baked Alaska (5/10). Overall, this is some of the best food I’ve had in Boston.

We made a reservation a month ago. I was really curious to know why the reservation slots fill up so fast, and what all the hype is about.

This place really lives up to its hype. Small, cozy and intimate setting, that serves robust flavours. I fell in love with each dish I had.

For me, all the flavors blending in my mouth was a new experience. The different flavors were intense and balanced. The portions are small but they will leave your heart content.

Our favourite was Sultan’s Delight and Vermont Quail Kebab, but the other three dishes we got were fantastic too.

We’d definitely visit them again.

Awesome date night place with great food and tons of vegetarian options. We tried the Chocolate Basque which came as a birthday surprise. These are small plates so they need to be shared family style. The service was super fast and the level of detail on every dish impeccable.

Oleana is a cozy Mediterranean-inspired small plates restaurant with a lovely ambiance and great service — but for me, the food overall was just okay. We ordered quite a few dishes to sample the variety, and while some stood out, others didn’t quite hit the mark.

Zaatar Bread: The date butter that came with it was mind-blowing — honestly the best part of the meal. The whipped goat cheese wasn’t for me, but that’s more of a personal preference.

Ricotta & Corn Dumplings: Very mild and soothing, but the texture felt a little sticky. Wouldn’t be my top recommendation unless you like that soft, sticky feel.

Fatteh: Their best seller — and I can see why. Definitely a creative twist on the traditional version and pretty flavorful.

Dark Leafy Greens: Cooked in a garlicky something that reminded me of an Indian home-style dish. Loved this one — comforting and familiar.

Spinach Falafel: The beet tzatziki was nice, but the falafel itself felt gooey and undercooked.

Baked Alaska: Got this to go since we were too full, but it’s apparently their star dessert.

Midnight Ramble (cocktail): Too icy for my taste, but still refreshing and nicely balanced.

Service was wonderful — friendly, attentive, and efficient. Parking is available right across the street, and the Central Red Line station is close by if you’re coming by train. We went on a Sunday night, and the only reservation available was at 8:30, which says a lot about how popular the place is.

If you’re going with two people, I’d suggest starting with four small plates and ordering more if you’re still hungry. Overall, a nice experience, but for me, it didn’t fully live up to the hype.

The food and service were excellent. We maybe a little too close to our neighbor diners. We can hear all their conversations. I do recommend booking in advance. It was a full house by 7pm on a Friday night. I really love the garden salad and bake Alaska dessert. Those two items were really a unique take on something commonplace. All the other dishes were great too!

This is our second time at Oleana and it was wonderful as always. I prefer this restaurant over their other one, Sarma, based on the ambience and food. The standouts for me this time were the quail and the sultans delight.
