Shipwreck fries are described as “thick cut potatoes” but they are actually wide spiral sliced potatoes and are rather thin. This makes them somewhere between a fry and a chip. Glad I added pork, because that’s about all I ate!

Basic eatery with no frills. Order at the counter and take a seat. Your food will be brought out to you. While I waited for my found a couple of older ladies who ordered their meal was still waiting when I got mine. They didn’t order anything elaborate from what I remembered but they had waited long enough that the manager came out to apologize for taking so long. I got a Cuban sandwich and a crab roll. I had to specify that I didn’t want lettuce and tomato. Those of you that know, know that those two things don’t go on a genuine Cuban. I also had to ask that it be pressed. Overall the sandwich was large and filled with lots of meat. The crab roll was a bit on the small side but good nonetheless. I wish they served a different hot sauce with it, either Crystal or Cholula. It’s a place that does serve up good food and their take on local favorites isn’t going to deter me from going back.

Excellent cubans. The spicy cuban is really just a garlic tomato sauce, not hot, but flavorful. Don’t be in a hurry, but the wait is worth it. Also, bring cash … they charge for credit card orders!
