We started with the fried pickles. This huge portion was cooked golden brown and served with a pleasing dipping sauce that added to the flavor of the pickles than overpowered them.
Next was the brisket sandwich and collards. They stacked the meat high enough that it slipped out of the bun! The red Tennessee sauce added to the smokey flavor of the meat. Back to collards, absolutely delicious. It’s hard to find them seasoned this well and not bitter.
Next time we are in the Wentzville area, we will stop in again and try something different.
The restaurant is located in a historic building across from the railroad tracks and is decorated with reclaimed wood. The staff was very polite and provided the right amount of attention and didn’t pester us.
And then there’s the food. Everything we tried was incredible!!!! But the best part… half-priced drinks when the train goes by! The train tracks run right across the street, and when you hear that whistle, everyone gets excited because you know your drink just got cheaper. It’s such a fun, quirky touch that makes the whole experience feel like a celebration. We ended up hoping for more trains Highly, highly recommend!
So on the corner in old town nice little area with street parking. When you walk in you get the old time feel not a chain restaurant vibe. The pork steaks, the burnt ends were fantastic. I’m not really a brisket person so I usually don’t comment but I had no complaints with it whatsoever. There are a lot of barbecue restaurants in the area but none with collard greens and those were excellent along with the potato salad. The service was great. I had no complaints. Everyone in there was nice and atentative. If you’re looking for a good barbecue restaurant stop on in I would highly suggest to look at their reviews prior to January 20 and make your own decision about the food. Keep up the great work definitely will be back.
No wait, and we were seated right away
The waiters and staff were very friendly and welcoming.
The chicken was good. I’d pass on the green beans next time. The chili mac was incredible. The chili was great as well! Highly recommend getting one of those as a side upgrade.
My incredible the ribs were delicious and would recommend.
The hibiscus margarita was a favorite of ours!
The restaurant is kid friendly and family oriented.
