Hey, its time for a Honest Review!! While taking a stroll past this cafe, my friend (who is black) decided to pop in and ask for a napkin. He was told that he would need to pay for the napkin if he was not a customer. When my friend left the cafe, the bartender closed the main door, which was open before we got there. I will let my friend leave his review with more details. However, I would just like to add that this experience was very disappointing and disturbing. The cafe was filled with all white customers. It felt very eerie and uncomfortable. I will not look at Old Wethersfield the same anymore because this experience was not welcoming. Old Town Cafe, the floor is yours……

African American woman arrived and everything was good. Customer in concern greeted me, no problem. Hours went by customer asked my name and I gave it for the second time. Minutes later he decided he wanted to address me as “Sha nay nay”. Very disrespectful. I address this to the bartender and it was dismiss. African American people DO NOT GO THERE!!

Fantastic place. Not exactly a cafe per se. The service was great, and beer was nice and cold. The only “downside” is that they don’t actually have food. You will need to order it over at Luna, which is attached and can be entered within the building. They have fantastic food thiugh if you do decide to order! Almost forgot that it is a very local bar where everyone seems to know each other. We were the outsiders, but I’m sure they’ll remember us since my wife forgot her purse. Staff and other customers took to it to make sure her purse was behind the counter. Thank you!

Brunette bartender was screaming at some girl who went in to use the restroom. The girl was clearly shaken and was apologetic. We opened the door heard the experience and our entire party turned around and walked right back out. What a way to be greeted! Scary.

Worst experience I’ve had at a bar in years. Bartender “Diva” needs to learn some respect and some customer service. I’ve been going to the OT for years and I’m DONE! I certainly don’t go out to get verbally abused by a sad excuse for a bartender who seems to have a chip on her shoulder as big as her obese attitude. She should think about a new career. Sad that other towny’s feel the same way about her as I do. I will bring my business down the street.

This place is the best kept secret in Wethersfield…the food is Amazing…was there for a private event…food was buffet style but you would have thought it was prepared individually. Nothing soggy or overcooked or dry…it was all perfectly done and delicious. Its very rustic in terms of setting but dont let that fool you.
