The food is so yummy here and reasonably priced. The chicken naan wrap is delicious and melts in your mouth. It was a huge portion and was served hot and fresh. Also the gentleman working there is very friendly. Highly recommend!

I ordered food delivery from this restaurant. The food arrived cold. While that’s not necessarily the restaurant’s fault, the quality of the food falls on Old Taste Of India.
The garlic naan didn’t have any garlic on it! It was extremely flat, had absorbed greasy areas, no taste, and was inedible.
The kohrma tasted like the biryani which tasted like the greasy, soggy samosa. I was told the chicken biryani would have vegetables-it didn’t. Overall, the food all tasted the same, and lacking in any discernable Indian spice. Also, the kohrma was way sweet! I’ve never experienced that before. Overall, don’t waste your money here. The only thing I enjoyed was the lemonade.

It’s run by a couple and they are kind enough to keep the prices low. Samosas and chai were spot on. Their lunch special was good. TBH Great food for the price you pay.

Really good food and absolutely wonderful people who work here. The people who run it are exceptionally friendly and community-oriented and go out of their way to get to know their customers and treat them well. I have only tried a couple of items but they were really exceptional. Good quality ingredients and care in making the dishes. Ample portions. The food is always piping hot even after carrying a takeout home. They have fashioned a clay oven to use in the food cart to make some of the best naan bread you can get in this town.

I’ve lived in Portland for 25 years and have tried hundreds of food carts all over town and this is hands down the best food cart I have had. What makes a great food carts? Two things; the first is of course great food, which this cart time and time again comes through with. The authenticity of their food can’t be found at any other Indian cart/restaurant. The naan is exceptional, I’ve never had anything like it. The second part to a great food cart is the people. Simple and Areyka (apologies if I spelled that wrong) are truly the kindest and most genuine people I have ever met. I have been coming here for 6-7 years now and they always greet you and treat you like their favorite customer no matter what. My go to menu item here is the chicken wrap (masala curry type of dish wrapped in naan like a burrito) which I can’t resist getting all the time. I have had the chicken biryani which is excellent, but also the chicken or veggie lunch special, which is an amazing lunch deal that comes with Naan and changes daily. If you are in town for a visit or if you live here, do yourself a favor and come to Old Taste of India to meet Simple and Areyka and try their amazing food!! I promise you won’t regret it, you will just regret not knowing about this gem of a food cart earlier

One of my favorite Indian food spots in the city, but also probably the best value for the food you get for the money. Very nice owners. I’ve been going here for years and have no intention to stop anytime soon. It’s a very good spot for a pretty quick grab and go; they’re typically pretty quick for the quality you get.

Highly recommended.

Favorite place for Indian food & the best lamb in town, period. Love the wraps & samosas with extra mint chutney. Always a good time chatting with them too!

Wow, amazing food. We were visiting portland from east coast and tried saag chicken + shrimp biryani from this place. The taste was top notch and spice level was really good as well according to our requirement. We wanted high spice that can satisfy desi tastebuds.

They have a great lunch special – but I’m a big fan of their mutter paneer, my favorite takeout!
