A bit empty during lunch time. Burger was ok nothing stellar. The appetizer sampler with baked clams, a crab cake, and shrimp was only ok. I didn’t love the food but they were nice.

French onion is 5 stars. The rye and cheddar ap is fabulous. I didn’t take pic of the dinners because they were amazing! Fish and chips and the chicken saltimbucco was fabulous! Will definitely be back!

We were a party of 4 for lunch. No wait for a table though the restaurant began to fill up.

This restaurant is in a strip mall, with a busy parking lot. You walk into the bar side, which on a Friday night was very crowded and very noisy. You have to walk through the crowd to get to the restaurant podium. We had reservations, and were seated immediately. Our server, Jenna, pleasantly arrived to take our drink order. A complimentary plate of fried bread with a pub cheese spread was served. We ordered the baked clam for an appetizer. Not the nest we’ve had, but not the worst. A nice crust on top, with chopped clams in the mixture, alon with pieces of bacon. My husband ordered the Old Street Chicken, basically chicken cordon bleu. He chose a salad instead of soup and fries as a side. He really enjoyed the batter fried chicken, covered with ham and Swiss. I ordered the stuffed shrimp and chose soup, French onion, along with rice pilaf as a side. The french onion soup had a dark, rich broth, and was delicious. The shrimp was stuffed with a crab meat mixture and very good. Jenna provided great service, we never had to ask for a drink refill. The menu had enough of a selection to peak our interest for us to return and try.

We were just looking for cocktails (2 people) and a burger, not gourmet, so a friend suggested Old Street. Ample parking is a plus and we walked in and sat at the bar which is where you land when you first enter. This was a slow time, so we can’t comment on service when it is busy. Christina was behind the bar and provided pleasant assistance. The slightly worn, old school vibe of the place was comfortable for us. We had a straight burger platter which was huge and it came with fries, Cole slaw and pickles, and our other order was for a liverwurst & onions on rye that was a special, served with potato salad (great), slaw and pickles. The dishes were delicious, well prepared and abundant. A couple of pumpkin martinis and an IPA finished us off with no hope of room for desert. This is now on our list of places to revisit.

Really, really liked this place. The staff is super friendly, the ambience is cozy, the bar is awesome, but unfortunately, and infuriatingly, the kitchen is habitually incompetent. Despite multiple issues with the food we kept coming back because everything else about Old Street is great. However, that ended today. No matter how you order your food, anticipate it to be loaded with onions and cooked wrong. Management is always apologetic, but I can only eat my food cold so many times (because invariably I have to wait while the kitchen staff tries to fix their mistakes two or three times; I’m not going to force my wife to watch me eat my food while hers is being redone). In short, if you want to hang out at a good bar with lots of TVs and drink choices, choose Old Street. If you’re looking for a good place to eat definitely go elsewhere.

It’s excellent! This was a very wonderful surprise, and I can’t praise this place enough. Why are you still reading this when you can give it a 5 out of 10 and try it for yourself right away?

I’ve just had the first of what I am now sure will be many meals at this restaurant. A bar and restaurant, we were sat at a booth on the bar side which was a little noisy but a Friday night at a bar what could be expected. We decided to try this restaurant tonight because the menu looked good. I can honestly say that this was the first meal thay I have had in a long while that legitimately had me say “wow”. Every item of food from the lettuce and pickles that accompanied my burger to the burger itself and the appetizers was absolutely incredible. Not good. Not great. INCREDIBLE. My wife and I started with splitting the mushroom cap appetizer and the French Onion Soup. My wife, who is a big fan of stuffed mushrooms, took the first bite. She commented that they were the best she had ever had, and I heartily agree. Also, I have never cared for French Onion Soup. I ate probably more than my fair share of the soup here. It was the first time I have ever enjoyed French Onion Soup and it was perfect. I had the Poutine Burger and my wife had the Lobster Roll off of the weekly specials menu, both of whoch were, again, EXCEPTIONAL. The food was literally a 10 out of 10. And the wait staff was excellent as well. I wish to also compliment specifically the gentleman that was the waiters assistant/barback/busboy unsure of his title but his attitude was warm, positive, and infectious. He was a pleasure every time he came to our table, as was the waiter, who kept us in Soda and napkins without us even having to ask. This was a really pleasant suprise and I can not recommend this establishment more. 5 thumbs up, 10 out of 10, why are you still reading this go and try it for yourself right now!

Meh…. food was not good. Ordered the Beer Battered Fish and Chips, French Onion Soup and Buffalo Cauliflower. The fish was not that fresh, the batter was strangely thick and super greasy. The chips tasted old and had this weird sweetness to them. Took a few bites and couldn’t finish it. The French Onion Soup had an extra thick layer of cheese that you could not pull away from the bowl and was hard to eat. I was not a fan of the flavor of the soup either. The Buffalo Cauliflower was a special. Cold (all the food was cold tbh) and soggy.

We love Old Street. The M-G-R as he is fondly known is one of the best greeters and farewellers of Smithtown. This place never disappoints (please get the cheese and crackers for your SOUL) but also the bartenders are attentive and the staff is very pleasant and ON POINT.
