There are times when you leave a restaurant still awestruck by the artful combination of flavors that turn ordinary foods extraordinary. This is not one of experiences.

A really great restaurant all around! We sat on the porch and it was beautiful and fun, especially with the good weather. The steak tartar appetizer was particularly amazing. Parking was easy and service was good and the cocktails were delicious. I liked that the smoked old fashioned was smoked at the table for a fun little display, even though it wasn’t quite as smoky as it would have been if the glass was pre-smoked. The only negative part was that there were no vegan or vegetarian options on the menu so my brother had to request it special. Then when his vegetable and pasta dish came out it had chicken on top. Which kind of defeated the whole purpose. It might have just been a little miscommunication in the kitchen or something, and they were gracious about it and made it right. You can also eat inside and it looks like they have a outdoor area in the back and another little patio area in the front. I love that they have turned this historic home into a great restaurant.

Beautifully renovated historic home turned into a high-end bar, restaurant and event venue. They definitely spent a fortune to turn this place into something special. The grounds are beautiful and the interior decor is tasteful.

My favorite place! There is a new menu with some European dishes that are amazing. The bar makes the best drinks in the area. The staff is very professional and the owners are lovely people. Prices are reasonable and the decor is exquisite.

After having such high expectations for this restaurant, we are disappointed to report that it was really a miss. After parking the car, we were very excited to see that the grounds and the building seem to be Impeccably maintained and restored. We were greeted by a hostess at a podium positioned outside of the restaurant and asked, how may I help you? Is this the appropriate greeting for a restaurant? She attempted to seat us at a table that was not our preference so we asked to be seated at another table for two, but she indicated that she could not because it was reserved for another couple. Not sure what that all means because the table was empty at the time of our departure. Our service was very good, the bread and water was promptly served, although the bus girl seem to be chomping on chewing gum during service, which is inappropriate. Our server was very professional and very attentive. Now comes the difficult part of the review. I ordered the lobster cocktail while it was flavorful and ample it was nothing more than a mayonnaise-based lobster salad over shredded lettuce. Certainly not what I expected the Caesar salad was good, but not great. My husband had halibut which was overcooked, and I had the tuna which was cooked properly in terms of being rare, but was bland and lacked flavor. Finally, the wine list was completely out of control in terms of pricing and markup. We looked up a wine we were considering ordering for $110 and found it online retail for $30, same vintage same year. We decided to order by the glass. Steaks were priced at $60 and $85. We also thought that for a menu with 10 main courses 3 of them being pasta dishes lacked balance. We spent $300 with the tip and felt unsatiated. You should also note that they add a surcharge for credit cards when you receive the bill. I know a lot of restaurants are doing this so simply take note. It feels like a lot of effort went into creating this restaurant and yet unfortunately it is not well executed..

Walking into this beautifully renovated house we immediately knew it was going to be a great time. We had a larger party and the entire staff was incredibly accommodating and our head server was personal and genuine. Not to take away from the food – which was delicious, beautifully plated and truly memorable – but the room that we dined in was impeccably detailed, covering the history of how the revolutionary war tied into the area itself. The ownership covered every little detail making our experience truly unique.

I officiated a beautiful wedding that was held here and stayed for dinner with my husband. For appetizers we had the Confit Pork and the Steak Tartare; both were absolutely delicious! Our entrées were the Filet Mignon, which was tender and flavorful, and the Pan Seared Cod with stewed peppers which was absolutely perfect. The cocktails and wine are also sooo good: Port Fashioned, Sparkling Pear and Banana Cream Pie.. yumm! The owners are a lovely couple and all the staff are amazing people. I’ll definitely be coming back even if it’s just for a drink!
