A hidden gem in the Snowshoe area. Historically we’d just leveraged the village-but stopped by on the way out of Silver Creek. We had been missing out. Sat with the brewmaster for awhile who clearly both enjoys and is excellent at his craft. The full rainbow of beers and every single one we tried was excellent. The food did well to match the drink, nevermind live music and the great atmosphere. Stop by, you won’t regret it.

Wow!! The food was delicious, had the candied bacon and pretzel, ample servings and very tasty. Beer was good, service was excellent, the views were amazing. What a treat to watch the deer in the forest a few yards away. Great place to go after a long day of skiing but not quite dinner time. The vibe was very casual and relaxing.

Escape the Village for a Great Bite

Old Spruce is the best spot outside the Village near Snowshoe for a quick meal paired with a beer or cocktail. After spending a cold, windy evening at Silver Creek, we stopped in to warm up and refuel—and it didn’t disappoint.

I ordered two appetizers: the Bavarian pretzel and BBQ nachos.

I’ve been craving a giant soft pretzel for a while, and Old Spruce delivered! Served with a deliciously creamy cheese sauce and a tangy-sweet ground mustard, it hit the spot perfectly. The BBQ nachos were decent—not exceptional, but definitely good enough to order again, especially if you’re sharing with a group.

This is a counter-service restaurant, at least during our Sunday evening visit. I gave Old Spruce a four in every category but rated it a five overall because I’d happily eat there again and recommend it to others. Plus, I love supporting independent businesses like this one!

If you’re looking to escape the Village, Old Spruce is well worth the trip.

Amazing beer and food. We are from “beer city” of Asheville and take home old spruce beer on the regular. Can’t beat the atmosphere and awesome staff! . Added bonus live music often!

Dog Friendly.
Full Bar.

Service was great. Late Sunday afternoon in early March and it was beautiful out. Popped in and got a beer. There is an upstairs and downstairs but upstairs was closed. Looks like they have a nice deck up there. Outside was completely waterlogged due to recent rain or maybe snowmelt so it wasn’t ideal but I bet during summer it’s a primo spot. I asked a lady that came out to check on her kids playing Cornhole. I asked her if she was eating here. She said food was good…..tacos 2 to an order (no side), nachos were excellent ….I think she said they had pulled pork in them or you could add it.
I had 1.5 white stouts (keg ran out on my second one). Service was great. Nice spot. Snowshoe never had anything this nice back in the day!

Oh yeah they apparently have a Frisbee course that goes right by and these 3 guys came in to grab a brew before continuing!

What a great little brewery in Snowshoe village! I got the Kolsch and Blonde Ale- I really enjoyed them both. A really cool place to grab a beer if you’re in the village. It is cozy inside and there are seats outside but you have to order a can beer to drink outside.

I had an incredible experience at Old Spruce Brewing in Snowshoe! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, helping me choose from their impressive selection of craft beers. The flavors were exceptional and paired perfectly with the delicious food options they offered. The rustic charm of the place, coupled with the breathtaking views of the surrounding area, made for an unforgettable dining experience.

I met Lawrence and he was awesome, he talked to the family and was super nice

Whether you’re a beer enthusiast or just looking for a great place to relax, Old Spruce Brewing is a must-visit destination. I can’t wait to return!
