Great service here but not the most amazing food. The lady taking orders was really good and helpful and we got our food in less than five minutes! Unfortunately the chicken was pretty dry and the side salad seemed very small to me. The memphis sandwich my husband got tasted good, but we always leave here feeling like we didn’t get enough to eat. And it’s definitely not a lot for what you pay. But the service is great and the place is decorated tastefully and it’s clean.

Barbecue was decent. Service was friendly and fast. I thought the brisket was good and fairly tasty. However, it was also a small portion for the price. The ribs were good but just a bit dry. The mac & cheese was very tasty.

Old Southern Barbecue in Rice lake. Pulled pork plater, with baked beans, macaroni cheesy,and sweet potato mash. Pork was actually tender and juicy the hot links are great. It’s pretty rare to find a place that handles their meat with care. That’s what she said lol ! One of the better barbecue places in Wisconsin. Generous servings, and Michelle was really nice. What a great way to end the night. Recommend anyone who’s in the area to try this place.

First time here, we got the Southern sample with three sides (mash potatoes, mac n cheese, cornbread). Love everything but the ribs. They were a bit dry for us. Tried all the sauces. Plently of food for two people. Would recommend this to anyone coming too Rice Lake.

Definitely worth the visit! The worker said the chicken sandwiches were the best he’s ever had so we had to try one. While it wasn’t the best we’ve ever had (hello, taiwanese spicy fried chicken sandwich from Chicago!), it was pretty dang good with the hand breaded, thick juicy chicken, thick pickles and soft bread. We also had the sample platter, creamed corn, and mashed potatoes. Everything was yummy and complimented each other. The brisket had a delectable amount of perfectly charred fat bits, the chicken was surprisingly juicy and perfectly seasoned with crispy, fatty skin, and even the sausage links had good flavor! Our favorite sauce was the fire one with the habanero peppers – great combination of tangy with a teeny bit of habanero flavor (wish it was spicier, tbh). Overall, would eat here again if we’re ever in town again.

Went here over the weekend when in the area and tried the Southern Sampler. The sausage was excellent, great flavor and the crispy skin gave some texture. The chicken was ok, needed to pull the skin off as it was rubbery but that’s too be expected with smoked chicken. The brisket was also fine, wasn’t impressed with the very thick cuts at the bottom of the pile but the flavor was fine, needed to sauce it though. Pulled pork was nothing special, needed sauce. The rib on the other hand…no flavor at all. Definitely needed to add sauce and even then. The texture was great but flavor was not. All the sauces were pretty good.

I must say that was some of the best BBQ I have ever had. Everything was great quality. The chicken wings were the best I have ever had, hands down, and I have had many wings. The ribs had just the right amount of salt and spice and were done to perfection. Very good! The brisket was amazing. We were in Rice Lake eating just before 8pm last night and the brisket was still juicy. I enjoy the pork too. It would be hard not to order that again. I can’t say enough good things about the food.

We have been here 3 times now and each time, the food gets better, or maybe it’s the menu. I highly recommend you stop in and give it a try. It’s not the cheapest place for a meal, but well worth it.
