This property is absolutely gorgeous! There was a guitar player and lots of families with little kids. Somehow, it is both casual and elegant. There are tables inside and out. There’s also a lawn area where people were hula hooping and a beautiful shiny rooster was strutting his stuff. We had the wood fired pizza. I wanted to love it, but for me it fell a little bit short. It may be a personal preference, but I feel that wood fired pizza should be very thin and crispy. This felt thick and doughy. Would have loved to have dessert, but we were weighed down by the pizza. The atmosphere and service were so great though that I will definitely be back and will try something different on the menu. How about something made with that chicken of the woods????

Cool venue, rustic old barn with lots of charm. Ducks, chickens, and goats run free in the outdoor seating area. The vibe is a little confusing. Menu items of risotto, bruschetta, and carbonara have a real fine dining theme. However, many menu items are served on paper and plastic flatware. The wait staff is very young and inexperienced. Unfamiliar with the menu. Appetizers and entrées came out at the same time. One of the mixed drink specials we ordered was absolutely disgusting, which makes sense considering the bar tender looked barely old enough to drink. All in all, the atmosphere was great, the food was good, the service was just ok. The wood-fired pizza is a side business located outside the restaurant. The pizza is very good.

Deck table and chairs were covered with crumbs. We were told right off the bat, that none of the pizzas nor the smoke fish dip were being offered as they were short staffed. Questionable if there was even alcohol in the cocktails. Other drinks were made incorrectly. Always short staffed here, so it’s never been a pleasurable experience, even after giving it a year to figure out the kinks. Haddock sandwich was listed on the online menu @ $21, but only the $29 entree was offered at the restaurant. They did kindly offer to make the sandwich for $30. And by the way, the entree haddock piece was maybe 3×3, not even enough to make a sandwich with! Broccoli was the daily veg, yet the plated entree was covered with 60% lettuce and no broccoli. They later did bring some out, but we were told they were out of it when the entree was served. The veggie burger was not good. The caprese was very good, just very small…not your traditional size at any other restaurant that we’ve had it served. Our waitress, despite being faced with events out of her control, delivered every response, food, drink and service, did so with a genuine smile, apology and offer to correct. This place has such amazing potential, but if they can barely serve a few tables at dinner time, then I cannot even imagine how they do weddings there. If Gordon Ramsey could only help here!

Reservations not required but are suggested. Wood fire pizza was the big draw for us. It is a separate business, but the restaurant has a cheese or pepperoni option on the menu. If you call in an order for pickup, many other toppings are available. We opted for the chicken and corn egg roll appetizer with honey mustard sauce. Served piping hot, 3 egg rolls…each cut in half, great tasting plate for several people. It was delicious. We also ordered a pepperoni pizza, typical wood fired pizza, great crust, little char. A few bubbles, sufficient cheese, somewhat greasy due to the pepperoni….yum. The menu has a few vegetarian options, poultry, pork and seafood…did not notice anything beef. We were too full for dessert, but they did have a separate dessert menu which we declined. The hostess and waitress were both friendly and helpful. Old barn interior with some interesting light fixtures and chandeliers. Lovely uncovered deck available for outside seating with a pretty view. They have fun goats to the side of the restaurant….they always seem to be climbing up something when I drive by. Entertaining, not sure if they are part of the restaurant. They close in the Fall as their is no heat inside, so that date is flexible. Parking lot smallish so if it’s a busy night and meeting friends you may want to carpool. Definitely going back again.

Beautiful Venue, went for the Maine Womens Annual 420 event, and I was so impressed with the location! Beautiful waterfront with a natural wooden arch for special events (ie weddings) gorgeous barn with a bar, upstairs, spacious floor layout, back porch, it was breathtaking, had a vintage lounge like feel and gorgeous chandeliers. Definitely would highly recommend this location for anyone planning an event!

I hate to write a bad review, but unfortunately we didn’t have a great experience. I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap at our waitresses recommendation and it was pretty skimpy- not worth $23. Our server was inattentive, but she may have had an off day.

When you see Farm in the name of the restaurant you tend to think homegrown, farm grown veggies. Not here. Unfortunately it was hot and there was no air conditioning. My cocktail, Gin Blossom, was medicinal. My Farm salad with chicken was uninteresting except for the pickled onions. The grape tomatoes were hard and not from a farm. The arugala was nice. The baked haddock was more like poached and undersized. The Brussels app were burnt to a crisp. The aioli sauce was good that accompanied the Brussels. The atmosphere was great! Very rustic, great deck and outdoor space. But the atmosphere won’t bring us back unfortunately.

Very nice , cozy venue! Food was quite good and very fresh. Staff were excellent, mindful of asking if we needed anything. It wS just right for my daughter’s wedding shower.

We are so disappointed that Smith Farm has gone so down hill. I had a lovely 40th birthday there a few years ago and the food and service were great.
Unfortunately, the food was slow, the kids meals came out cold after 45 mins of waiting for buttered pasta. We had to send it back to be reheated. They forgot the fries, then 10 mins later brought out an uncooked pizza with stretchy raw pizza dough in the middle. We had to send the pizza back too. The pizza was no better the second time around and we still hadn’t been served the men’s entrees, even after 2 rounds of repairs on the other meals. We ended up waiting so long for the meals that we had to take them to go- all of us with empty stomachs. Aside from the food, and perhaps far more important – the waitress and chef were both confrontational, rude and defensive over the situation. Such a lovely spot- such an shame it’s deteriorated with terrible management.

I hesitated to write this review and want so much to love this restaurant. I have been going to the Barn since it opened. Really enjoyed it the first couple years but it has gone down hill. I usually go in the beginning of the season to try it again hoping it has improved. I was there a couple of weeks ago and it has not. It took a while for our drinks to come and was told they ran out of ice. The food takes forever to come out (over an hour). We got a salad and 2 apps. The food was very average and costs a lot for quality of the meal. The whole place feels very disorganized and not sure what so going on in the kitchen for the food to take so long. The atmosphere is great but that is about it.
