The food here was rlly good! I got the tri trip sandwich which was delicious and my friend got the fish and chips and said the fish was great! Only caveat is our service was pretty terrible. To be fair it did seem like she was the only server, so i know she had a lot going on. But she was very short with us and never checked up on us while checking in with other tables around us. Nonetheless the food and beer were great!

The food at Old Schoolhouse Brewery was amazing, and the guava cider was delicious! Unfortunately, the service wasn’t the best. I had ordered the pub fries with steak, but the wrong fries came out. When I told the server, he insisted that’s what I ordered, didn’t try to resolve it, and came across grumpy.
I went back inside with him and spoke to the cashier/bartender, who was very kind and helpful. He let me reorder the correct fries, but I still had to pay for the first fries, which didn’t feel fair since it was a misunderstanding. My boyfriend also placed an order, and we closed out the tab.
Overall, the food and drinks were truly great, but the first server’s attitude and being charged for the wrong fries really brought the experience down.

Best place to eat in Winthrop, and my husband and family have been coming over 41 years to this town every summer. We love the garlic fries, salad, wine and beer. Hamburgers are great too. I would stay away from the harvest salad. Wait is typically 1 hour to get seated; so for dinner arrive by 4:30pm or expect not to eat dinner there at all that night.

Great atmosphere and delicious beer all while sitting on the huge creekside outdoor patio. My waiter was less than cordial and never asked how my meal was or if I needed another drink. I always had to ask for another beer or condiments. He didn’t seem like he was very happy to be there. I was really excited to try the Fish and Chips, however when it arrived, the fish was over battered and overcooked. I ended up scraping the batter off and eat just the fish. I would not recommend this entree.

Fun location, historic building and town, menu when we were there was only tacos and nachos, so we had some tacos and tried the nachos with burnt ends brisket. The nachos weren’t great, very little meat added for an extra $6, cheese sauce, not shredded cheese, I would avoid. The burnt ends tacos were tasty. The big hero was the grilled chicken fajitas, highly recommend. The brewed root beer was excellent.

Really enjoyed the Tri Tip steak sandwich was AMAZING— incredibly flavorful and the steak was very tender! Would probably try the fries next instead of the Caesar salad… Amber beer was delicious!
They have a nice covered river patio- raining and cold the day I was there but will go back and enjoy when the weather warms up! Friendly staff!!

Surprisingly great vibes on the back patio- live music, cool breeze, river rushing right next to us, and 3 awesome burgers. No wait on Friday at 7pm, seat yourself. Outdoor seating ranges from rocking Adirondack seats facing the river to tables for up to ~8. Service was fast and attentive!

Super cool spot right in the middle of town, with great places to eat and drink both inside and outside. The staff were all really great despite the heat and the crowds. I’ve never sat in an Adirondack / Muskoka / Insert Local Name here chair on a bar patio, watching the river flow and ate and drank like that.

This place was very cute and honestly prices are what I would expect for a small tourism town. My burger was delicious but very messy and my husband enjoyed his fish and chips. Our kiddos shared a kids burger and fry and it was more than enough for a six and four year old.
