Okay, this restaurant was hands down the best food I’ve had in the region. It was genuinely fabulous. I told the waiter they’d have to pry the plate out of my cold dead hands because I took a pause from stuffing my face and they asked if I was done It came out hot. The sauce was perfectly balanced and seasoned and the pasta was right on point. Everyone at the table (6 of us) had great food and were really pleased with what they ordered. The menu is decently balanced with a nice selection of local produce and a good selection of wines and cocktails for those of you looking to have a drink with your meal. The wait staff were great and attentive. The view out across the water was lovely. It’s a big place and it was absolutely packed, with a huge birthday party on the table next to ours, so it was loud. We didn’t mind much, but if you have anyone in your party with sensory issues or problems with hearing, it’s something you should be aware of. I didn’t go for a wander around so I don’t know if they had quieter spots.

Great atmosphere, beautiful view and great service. The fried seafood platter is a good portion. However, the crab cake meal is a bit small and the crab and artichoke dip lacks flavors in my opinion.

We made this restaurant our last stop on our vacation, and we were absolutely blown away by everything! The food was delicious, I had the grilled salmon, and it was the best salmon I’ve ever had! Everything was cooked perfectly and looked beautiful. Our server was so wonderful. We loved chatting with him. We will definitely be coming back next time we visit South Carolina!

My wife and I were seated at a window table with a wonderful view of the marshes and Broad Creek. We enjoyed a cocktail and ordered some hush puppies as a light appetizer, they were very good and there were plenty of them. My wife ordered the Caesar Salad and commented how good it was. I had the wedge salad and it was generously garnished with bacon and blue cheese, very tasty. My wife had the Grilled salmon with charred corn, roasted wild mushrooms, snow peas, butternut squash purée, miso-mustard glaze. It was a hearty portion and delicious. I had a daily special of soft shelled crab, risotto and vegetables. I love soft shelled crabs and I was very pleased with this entree. Our server was pleasant and attentive. The restaurant has a busy, pleasant atmosphere and the staff handles the large crowds very well. I highly recommend the Old Oyster Factory for the food, views and service.

We’ve been to the old oyster 5 times, and 1 or 2 times were the best. This last time seemed to be our last time. We traveled over 4 hours and were looking forward to great oysters and a great view. The oysters were terrific but it was down hill from there, the beautiful fish wasn’t done inside, and the pasta was tasteless and full of empty shells (I asked for clams with clams inside they sent over more) annndddd the bug attack was our clue to get the heck out of there. We literally rushed off, and not one person on the staff apologized for the worst expensive dinner ever. We went inside to pay our bill and not one sorry or offer for anything, the bug attack was so massive our food was left on the table to the bugs. They didn’t care. They sat us at a lousy table that the waiters kept knocking into. It was just bad all round. I was happy and looking forward to this dinner and just went with the bad experience that no one cared about after a couple of their dinner guest apologized who witnessed our bad experience at The Old Oyster.

We are visiting Hilton Head and found this place online. We made a same day reservation and requested a table by a window. The staff was able to accommodate. Our server was Jevita and she was amazing! The restaurant was busy but service was still great. The food was delicious and I highly recommend this restaurant!

Dining at an out of the way restaurant that was as busy as it gets. The parking lot was packed, and I was surprised when they seated us as quick as they did. The Mrs had the shrimp cocktail and a Greek salad while I enjoyed the bistro steak. We also ordered the hush puppies, which were the best I’ve had. We finished the meal with a delicious cheese cake!!

Jessica was our server. She was attentive without being annoying. She made sure we had what we needed, made thoughtful suggestions, and gave honest feedback about the menu items. The food was outstanding! I would recommend making a reservation. This is a family-friendly establishment with the option of eating inside or outside.

Absolutely fantastic experience! The food was perfectly delicious both times we went during our getaway to Hilton Head. Muscovite oysters are so unique and incredibly tasty. We also had the crab and artichoke dip and that excellent as well. The Savannah oysters are good but we preferred them after adding hot sauce. The scallop meal melts in your mouth. We opted to split the meal after getting two sets of oysters. The key lime pie is very good; it’s actually better without the whip cream.
