Great food. Decent prices. I stopped in for coffee with a Friend. The coffee was WARM. Not hot. If I’m paying for it I prefer it HOT. I asked the waitress if she could possibly bring me some hot coffee. She gave me an attitude. Irritated me. If I wanted warm coffee I would have stayed home. Not recommended based on the RUDE service.

This place is incredible! We were in town for youth sports and decided to come to Old Main for lunch.. The building is absolutely beautiful with incredible decor. The menu is themed in North Dakota towns, and the dining area is decorated with old photographs of these places!
The food was good, the soup buffet nothing short of world class and our server Rebecca was top notch, they even offered a deep roster of dessert options! We will for sure go again if ever we are in Devils Lake again!!!

The staff are so good at making the rounds. Everytime we thought we would need another drink or some condiment our waitress was already there. Mind you this was an hour to closing for them and I had my whole family of 8. Still the environment was comfortable and friendly. We will return.
We had a variety of foods. Prime rib for me, it could have been juicer but I accept that I did arrive at an hour before close. The bill was alot less than I planned for too which was a nice treat for me.

Food is always top tier. Management creates a fun atmosphere, and servers and line cooks are trained by the best. The fact that several servers have stayed at The Old Main for over a decade and are training new cooks and servers, assures me that my food is always perfect. Service is efficient and friendly. All around good experience for the whole family.

Really good food. I enjoy the soup bar here. Lots of different soups to try. I had tomato, knoeplfa and vegetable beef. Reasonable prices and fast service. Lots of seating. Parking is somewhat difficult as it is downtown but parking is free. Old time atmosphere with lots of historic photos on the walls.

Everytime I visit home I have to come to old main! My absolute favorite since I was a kid was getting a chocolate malt with my dad! They used to give you your malt, and then whatever extra they made which ended up being enough for a little kid and that made it seem so fun! Their big train iced coffee’s are holy moly so good and sweet!!! The food is classic diner food, can’t go wrong there. The environment is fun! There are steep steps going upstairs but it’s so fun seeing all the old town photos and the food being named after little towns.. the fish tanks have improved cleanliness wise.. staff are fun and sweet!! I love the soup bar and really anything I get here!!

Soups were bland and became thick and clumpy from cooking all day without a lid on. Sweet potato fries were soggy, chicken teriyaki was marinated too long and was too salty. Walleye was good. Waitress was attentive and friendly.

I enjoyed the all day breakfast menu while passing through Devil’s Lake, ND. The food was delicious and plentiful and the decor really set the place apart from other diners with the pinball machines and throwbacks to our American history. It’s definitely a place to visit!!
