First time and won’t be the last! The filet was perfectly medium rare, the chive sauce baked potato was amazing, we split a perfectly broiled lobster tail, the chopped steak had so much flavor and was melt apart tender, and the escoffier sauce was the perfect finish. Love the dark, candle lit atmosphere, and our waitress was great! We waited about 15-20 minutes between ordering and receiving food which was perfect to be able to enjoy our drinks and dinner salads!

Dennis killed it again…. best food best staff best atmosphere best owner…. time after time…. my wife and I and our 3 grown kids were made to feel like Dennis’s family… drinks, apps, steaks n shrimp were all great as usual… but the bartender/owner/community savior and his golden Cadillacs were the utmost top of toppers for the holiday experience we were looking for… can’t wait till week after new years to take family from Texas and share the most exquisite dining experience in all of the Midwest!!!!

Loved it. Midwestern fare. Slow paced in a way that gives you plenty of time to talk to your people while you wait. Everyone was super friendly. Spaghetti was great. Brewed tea was perfect. 10 stars. Felt like I was in the Upper Peninsula in Michigan actually. Lots of Midwestern personality to be found here for sure!

I really do not understand the reputation of the Lux. The fried chicken was okay, rather bland. The baked potato was small. The salad looked prepackaged. Overall, it’s not bad food, just nothing to rave about. For the price, you can do better elsewhere in Springfield.

Place is a somewhat hidden gem. The people that know about it go regularly and for good reason. The food and atmosphere are relaxing and you can tell that the owner/ manager cares about every customer that walks in the door. My food has always been hot, fresh, and flavorful. The only thing to consider is time, they have a small and old kitchen and are upfront that you will probably be waiting a bit. So if you have plenty of time and want a great meal with that home cooked feel, go here. You won’t regret it.

Honestly it wasn’t all it’s hyped up to be . I ordered a sirloin cooked medium & loaded baked potato. Steak was overcooked dry and the potato overcooked as well . Everyone is stuffed in like sardines. The metal plate my steak was on was all ragged looking. . I won’t go back or suggest anyone I know to eat there. . The iced tea was good. We tipped nicely and didn’t complain. Although we should have.

Dennis was very entertaining while I waited on my food. I came into the bar area to order and have a drink while I waited. Food was amazing. I got salmon, and the wife- pork chops. We will eat in next time and enjoy the timeless aged charm of the bar area.
