Great spot right off of King St! The atmosphere is good with lots of aged wood interiors. The rooftop patio is very comfy. My Bloody Mary was perfect. We were here for lunch – highly recommend the steak sandwich and the grilled chicken sandwich. Nice portion sizes.

Slightly off of King street, in an unassuming building, I found the best Schnitzel and Spaetzle. Pounded thin, tender and moist, with perfectly seasoned crust. Service was excellent as well. Atmosphere is utilitarian, but perfectly fine. Go for the food !!!

This is actually a large restaurant with seating on the ground floor and upstairs and outside balcony. We ordered the Züricher Geschnetzeltes which was delicious, and the Wiener Schnitzel which was very good. It was tender, not dry, and flavorful. The highlight was the black forest cake. One of the best cakes my wife has ever had. Smooth, moist and creamy. Service was quick and friendly.

Old House Cosmopolitan is an absolute gem! The schnitzel was hands down the best I’ve had in the U.S., perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside, while the crepes were just as delicious; add to that the warm, polite, and attentive staff who made us feel right at home, plus the charm of sitting out on the balcony, and it all came together for an unforgettable dining experience that I can’t wait to repeat.

Had one of the best German meals of my life. The currywurst and fries was an excellent start for appetizer.. I had the Jager Schnitzel and it was life changing. Yum! Service was great. Highly recommend.

I had such a great experience at Old House Cosmopolitan. The restaurant has a very warm and homey feel, with cozy decor and a wonderful selection of European songs playing in the background, which makes it feel inviting and comfortable.
The menu offers a mixture of different European cuisines, and the portions are generous and satisfying. For appetizers, I had the cevapcici, which is homemade grilled beef sausage and goulash soup. For my main course, I had the chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce on the side, which was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and flavorful. I paired it with a side of spätzle, which was very filling and complemented the dish perfectly.
The overall experience was fantastic. The combination of hearty, flavorful food, generous portions, and the welcoming atmosphere makes this a restaurant I would happily return to. It is a great spot for anyone craving delicious European cuisine in a cozy, relaxed setting.

I spent many of my younger years living throughout Germany in the early 2000s as a military brat. It’s very rare that I find a place that does jaeger schnitzel the way I remember but this place nailed it. My friends loved their dishes as well. Great spot and really friendly staff.

Great outside upper porch seating. The food is always amazing. The best German Restaurant in the area. Reasonable pricing on food and drinks. The only negative is my OCD. The outdoor TV was on saying only “No Internet Connection” I wanted to turn the TV so badly.

I stop there every time I am in Old Town Alexandria. Their mixed grill is always my favorite. The staff is very accommodating. They always honor my request for half salad, half fries. The meats are all individually cooked and come out as ordered. The seasoning highlights the meal without overwhelming. My one suggestion is serving the butter in pats rather than the disposable little cups. There is an upstairs dining room which tends to be quieter than the downstairs. There looks like there is also an upstairs outdoor seating area.

I ordered the $30 restaurant week special with the pork schnitzel (though I substituted the fries for a salad) and the crepes with jam, and was very happy with the food and portion size. Strongly recommend this restaurant to any visiting and I definitely intend to return.
