If you are looking for a dive bar w friendly service this is your place. Cash only right in the heart of Ptown. Very nostalgic, dark wood lots of pictures and memorabilia. They do not offer food and limited snacks at the bar. We drank beer PBR and Narragansett but they had full bar to choose from. You could walk right by and not realize it s open, as from door is a storm door w no door knob and a sign that says”Yup, we are open”. Adds to the mystique of the place!

This place is all atmosphere. You can imagine sea captains rolling in to drink away their woes, celebrate a great catch, etc. You can also imagine this place getting VERY messy in the busy season in all the right ways.

Be forewarned that this is cash only and there is no food to speak of unless you want a bag of chips. You will get very stiff drinks for reasonable prices and the uneven floors, slanting tables, etc., could prove interesting depending on how much you take advantage of their reasonable prices. Have a plan in place for what you’re going to eat to soak all that alcohol up.

We were there on a quiet day in the off season and we loved it. Not sure I would be as into it in high season, but I hate high season anywhere.

The Old Colony Tap is one of the oldest bars in New England. With an outstanding selection of whiskey, scotch, bourbon, and rum, you are sure to find what you’re looking for. I’ve been coming here since the early 1990s and would easily recommend this bar to anyone wanting to step back in time and getting a perspective on what it must have been like bak in the day. Getting off of your fishing boat after a long day and putting a few whiskey shots back. Enjoy and safe travels!!!

We stopped into the tap because we’re waiting on our reservation at the lobster pot next-door. We had a great server. She was very quick and enjoyed listening to the man singing cover/leading karaoke. This is a cash only place so be sure you’re prepared for that. The old world decor and harpoon IPAs really made up for us. I feel like this is a very local vibe and would be great for dark and stormy evening.

I had taken a phone call and was standing in the hallway that leads to the men’s room and I was harassed by the owner to leave the area, he said I was in the men’s room and making people feel uncomfortable… I thought ptown was more inclusive, as the public bathrooms near the wharf are unisex. This owner was a total jerk to our entire party.

CASH ONLY!!

Fun little spot. This was my first time there.
My bestie has been here several times over the years and there is a bench for you to carve your name and I took a picture of her with her name carved in it.

We had a couple of beers, nothing special. It’s a quirky little place with a lot of the locals/regulars.
The floors are wonky and tilted. The tables are slanted, but it made for an interesting part of the visit.

Take the plunge into Provincetown’s best dive bar! Great location on Commercial Street right in the middle of everything. Fun place to have a drink or 2 or more. Cash only with an ATM. You’ll feel like you are on an old ship with the crooked floors and tables in this truly salty Cape Cod old school establishment.

Just spent a good night at this bar, but after leaving I realized that I did not have my wallet. I went back to check where I was sitting. The bar staff were all incredibly helpful and reassuring. I ended up finding it on the street after. Lucked out. But thanks for the assistance from the good people there.

Dingy, dimly lit, creaky floorboards, wonky chairs, down to earth, good old drinking den.Chess playing in the window seat, a little voodoo doll made from an old shot bottle, crabs claws, portraits of local seamen, other boating paraphernalia hung on the walls and strung from the ceiling create a laid-back atmosphere. The old peat Smell reminds us of old local bars in Ireland. Good beer and old rock and roll times from the jukebox. We loved it. It was a great place to dash into out of the lashing rain.
