This was our first time here. Several friends have been saying we needed to check it out. We decided to get out today for lunch/dinner and drinks. Old Black Bear was a absolute delight and we will be going back. If you haven’t been here yet I would suggest going. Outside is Pet Friendly, good seating both indoors and outside. They have live music starting at 6pm. Many daily specials and we will be going back for the Sunday Brunch and checking out the bottomless Mimosas for sure. The atmosphere is super chill and the wait staff make it even better. Quick service, friendly, great suggestions on what’s good and they make you feel at home. Jason A was a super great server. Very pleased with the service that he gave us. OBB is kid friendly also. We will be going back for sure and might even make this a monthly stopping spot. Go check it out if you haven’t and see the daily specials. I still want to check out this 16oz steak that Jason was telling us about on Monday nights.

21 Aug 23: made it back for another steak, this time with out of town friends. They followed our recommendation for the steak and were equally impressed and complimentary about the food. Everything was perfect! Jason took extra good care of us again this evening. Thanks Jason for a great job and thank you Old Black Bear for a truly delicious meal!

Our favorite hangout spot in Huntsville AL! We were a loyal customer. Loved the people, the food, and the beer! Trick is to go early before the kitchen gets backed up and to get the “smash pattys” for the burgers.

I have to take time to give credit to such an awesome experience. This place definitely exceeded my expectations.I know people said they’re good but WOW! I had the black and Bleu burger and my oh my it was absolutely delicious. My wife had the burger with fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese and I never knew a burger could taste that good. Give this place a try. We will gladly make the drive for this place again.

Although the wait for brunch on Sunday was 45 minutes, I was pleased with food quality, which compensated for the shabby decor and overall lack of ambiance. I was disappointed with my Bloody Mary, which was lacked garnishing similar to the table sitting next to us (see photos). I felt slighted. Overall, we will return for brunch and sour beers for round two in hope of a slight improvement.

Interesting place in historic downtown. Great bear, good food, and friendly staff. The loaded nachos were delicious, but the pimento cheese seemed broken. The Madison hot chicken sandwich was also good but there was a sandy feeling from the breading on the chicken. My fries weren’t as crispy as my wifes. Despite those oddities the food was very good. The beer and whiskey were also top notch

I looked forward to “the best burger on the planet” for months after my son and doctor recommended Old Black Bear Brewing Company. Super excited they were serving brunch when we arrived. Plus they have salmon! Yay! Hand-cut potatoes! Fresh pesto & hollandaise!

This place is really awesome. Great food selection at good prices. There is a local brew and liquor for all tastes. They brew their own beer and have their own whiskey and vodka. I ordered a mixed drink (excellent selection here as well) which highlighted their butterscotch vodka…whoa this drink was dangerously good! They also have a chocolate coffee vodka. Let’s talk customer service – I asked if they had a Hotty Toddy (one of my favorites)…he said it is seasonal and not on the current menu but he would make it work. It was great! They have indoor and outdoor seating. You have gotta give this place a try.
