The 3 tacos & homemade chips with salsa/guacamole were delicious. Also loved the size and presentation of the hot cocoa with whipped cream. Loved the large windows overlooking the snow & ski area.

It took over 40 minutes to get a bacon cheeseburger, chili dog, 3 corn dogs, and a philly cheesesteak with HORRIBLE service. Yes, we were a large group so we understand that the kitchen may not be able to handle us like In & Out, but when we went to the counter to ask about the progress, all we got was a girl giving us attitude, saying the food wasn’t ready yet and not even bothering to check. They may be ok for a small group, but if you have a big group, beware! Prepare to wait… for a long time…

Come on in and enjoy this fabulous iconic bar & grill diner. Their meals are delicious and why not top it off with a refreshing ice cold drink of your choice. Enjoy the view looking out at the beautiful Sierra mountains. What a simple and relaxing place to be at.
It’s a place for the hikers, bikers, workers, the commoner, and anyone else who wants to relax and enjoy life.
It’s old and rough on the edges but that’s part of its charm and lure. Stop in and I’m sure you’ll agree with me that it’s worth a visit.
I’m working in Truckee from Sacramento area and stop here when I get chance because it’s a place like home that you want to get back to.

This place was awesome, stopped by for a quick bite after skiing. Ordered way more food than we could eat but had leftovers. The staff was really friendly and accommodating. The food was really good, lots of flavor, fresh, and great portion sizes.

I wish I had a highlight but out of everything we ordered everything hit the spot!

I would 1000% suggest coming here, you can even watch folks ski out of the window while you grab a bite!

This is the absolute best combination of laid back atmosphere, great bar food, the right prices, and fast service. My wife and I have a place nearby and come here often for dinner, and sometimes for breakfast. We’ll also grab a beer on the deck at the end of the ski day. It’s one of the highlights of the whole Donner Pass area.

Great little ski lodge with affordable food, prices and drinks! We went during the summer to go play some disc golf and stayed for a couple beers. Make sure you try the homemade pie! This is a fun place to visit because chances are you’ll run into hikers on the Pacific crest Trail? It’s fun to talk to them about their journey. The staff was great.

Saw the fresh baked pies sign after walking through Donner Tunnels and had to stop. Mixed Berry Pie was delicious! Hostess was friendly and funny. Liked the stickers on the bar. Will definitely be back to try the food!

If you go to visit the historic train tunnels and want to eat in the area, this place is ok. People are very friendly and food is ok. We ordered the Korean wings and got hot spicy ones. They were good but we didn’t want spicy hot wings.

Excellent pit stop for a bite, beer or both after a hike, ski day or even a place to take a lunch break from work. The food is good and Rene (tender of bar, waiter, story teller, dj) is beyond awesome!
