I’ve passed by the is place a million times and thought I’d try it today.
It was good, a solid sushi restaurant in North Augusta. I had a rainbow roll and a tuna scallion roll. The size was a little small but I tend to think sushi rolls are usually oversized for what they are supposed to be. Daniel was pleasant and answered any questions I had. I’d recommend this place if you are looking for a good sushi spot in North Augusta that won’t break the bank!

Our favorite Sushi placed not only switched ownership, but burned to the ground. So, we’ve been on the hunt for a new location. That being said, finding good Sushi is serious business in our family. It MUST be fesh. And typically the quickie places in town, fail us with flavor and value.
Then we found Okinawa Sushi & steak. I think the building was once a Waffle House so, its not too much to look at and not hug inside. However, the food is fantastic!
Unfortunately I didn’t take pictures. I ordered the Chicken and Shrimp Habachi. Portions were large and all so yummy.
My husband ordered two rolls and could barely finish. I’ll admit, I watched him closely when he took his first bite and yes, he gave “that look”, the look of….OH-MY-THIS-IS-HEAVENLY! (one roll with Eel, another with crab: none having cream cheese, which in our opinion does not belong in real Sushi).
We’ve found our place!! It’s not super quick service (they were busy) and everything is made to order. Fresh and delicious.
I almost hate to tell you how good it is for fear of having to wait for a table on our return.

Stopped coming to this restaurant last summer because the food quality had gone downhill, and I decided to give it another try, in the same scenario. Food quality isn’t great. We ordered sushi, and the sriracha was way too overpowering for the spicy mayo. The crab was hard and dry, and it had a fishy flavor because it had been sitting in the cooler with other fish, unwrapped, sucking up the other fish.

It’s unfortunate. I’m not sure if the owners have changed? They always took great pride in customer service. We came in for dinner, which we haven’t done in a long time. When ordering we asked a question about something we ordered, apparently misunderstood. When the dinner finally came out, we were confused bc it was kind of what we ordered, but not really. Then it was “fixed” but totally different from what we inquired about in the original order. No one was upset, it was fine. But the ladies working were bashing us as they finished the end of night side work. Continued talking bad about us as we ate like we couldn’t hear them about a mistake on the servers side and no one was mad about except for her. A once popular pick for our family is no more. The food was subpar compared to many past experiences and the service was way worse. This was at the North Augusta Location.

The fried rice was amazing and a massive portion. We got the volcano roll and the Snow White rolls. Both were great! Snow White was smaller since it doesn’t have rice but still good! Edamame was good too. All for good prices as well. And great service

I ordered a spicy version of their teriyaki chicken and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. It was very good , especially for take out. The only bad thing I could say about the meal is that I wish there was more food. Overall very pleased with the food quality and price was decant.

The staff Kya was nice and sweet I ordered the lunch special of the hibachi chicken and shrimp. I had 4 shrimps in my plate and the chicken had a rubbery texture and the rice was hard and hardly any vegetables. I will not return

It was very good. I was with a group of 8 and got surf and turf. My Steak was filet mignon. Others who got a lower cut off steak were not as pleased with their meat. The scallops were wonderful! The waitress was very good and remembered special things, like no onions on mine. You get a lot of food. Most of us ended up taking portions home. I definitely recommend it and look forward to going back.
