I recommend this restaurant. The food and dining experience were both excellent. I came for the beef intestine hot pot, which was rich and comforting. The pork katsu sandwich was another highlight, with crispy toast, juicy pork, and a light touch of mustard that made the flavor more complex. The fried chicken was tender and cooked to perfection, and both desserts were enjoyable. Remember to make a reservation. I just called half an hour in advance, but it is still better to let them know ahead of time.

Had a great experience at Okatte Tanto NY. It’s a cozy bar-style spot with amazing food — fresh, refined, and served quickly. We had oden and a few small plates, all delicious. The sake selection is extensive, and the matcha sake was especially nice. The staff were kind and approachable. It’s on the more expensive side, but well worth it for the quality and authentic late-night vibe.

Very new experience to eat tuna! Lol all food was perfect and the draft beer was really fresh! Oh! It was the hottest day in this summer, may be that is why the place was not cool enough

Exceptional quality of Japanese food. If you’re looking for high quality traditional Izakaya Japanese food with very good selection of sake, you are in the right place! The sake was transferred to another bottle that keeps the sake’s temperature cool throughout the dining experience. Every dish we ordered was perfect and super tasty and fresh. Portions are on pretty small side so recommend getting Katsu Sando that will fill you up! We sat next to the kitchen and bothered me a bit that the door kept opening and closing. Staff were very friendly and was packed on a Friday night so highly recommended to make a reservation

Authentic japanese dining experience. We ordered hot pot with intestine, odens, curry udon, and tako wasabi.
We were seated without reservation. Staff was very attentive.
Food was overall great. Soup for hot pot was delicious. My daughter enjoyed the soft fish cake odens. Curry was also flavorful.
The only shortcoming was with wagyu I ordered as add-on for hot pot. It was not tender at all as you would expect from wagyu beef, actually quite chewy. It was definitely not worth to pay extra $20.

One of the authentic izakaya that l love in the city. Nabe and oden is a must to get. Loved that they also have a good selection of sake

Didn’t realize we need reservations but was lucky enough to grab a quick 40 min time slot.
The food is absolutely amazing. Very close to the good restaurants we’ve had in Japan. Oden warms you up in a cold day, and the omelet with sukiyaki beef gives a great start to the night. My spouse enjoys the scallops a lot, as it’s fresh and sweet. We also love the katsu sandwiches and the curry udon.
Every bite of the food is delicious Will make reservations for the next visit.

Food is average at best, but extremely pricey and small portion even by NYC standard. 3 tiny calamari legs are all you get for an apperizer that costs 12 bucks. The food in the photo costs $40 pre-tax and tip. I left still hungry after spending $50+ per person on food only.

Made a last min reservation at 5:30 on a Saturday. Had a beautiful dinner. Traditional Japanese dishes. The sake chiller they have is very cool too. Fresh ingredients.
