The sashimi platter was fresh. Not certain why it was presented with a dead fish head and tail. A little off putting. Maybe it’s a reminder of what we’re actually eating.

Pretty damn good sushi. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fish, and the rolls. Sat at the sushi bar and enjoyed a very good meal. Service was great, but the sashimi and rolls were the best.

Okane Umi is a great sushi spot with a wide selection on the menu. It was my first time there, and I wanted to try everything, so I went with the Omakase to let the chef serve the freshest fish of the day. I chose the U56 Premium Sushi Omakase ($50) and U57 Sushi & Sashimi Omakase ($80). I expected a traditional Omakase experience where sushi is served one piece at a time, but instead, all 10 pieces were served at once. Even so, the chef’s choice of sashimi was fresh and tasted amazing. For the price, the quality of the fish is definitely worth it. We also ordered fresh oysters, and they were super fresh as well. I’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu.
Quick tips: The Omakase is enough to share between two people.
Perfect if you want a great selection without deciding what to order. Plenty of parking is available, and reservations are recommended for dinner. They also have Lunch Special from Mon to Fri 11:30am to 3pm.

I love their sashimi salad! You get a huge portion too! Every time I come I always regret ordering more food since the salad would have been enough for me. Nonetheless everything was great!!

I am happy to find Okane Umi offering a nice outdoor patio! The weather was beautiful on this Saturday afternoon. Patio is clean, service was friendly and food arrived very quickly.
Appetizer – miso eggplant is delicious; chicken karaage is decent but not something I will go back for. Sexy roll and salmon avocado roll are both good. Satisfied my sushi craving 🙂
