Fish Fillets with Salted Egg Yolk: A standout dish. Forget dry fish—this features tender fillets coated in a fragrant, savory salted egg yolk crust that’s so flavorful it needs no sauce.
Guo Bao Rou: The traditional sweet & sour pork. Incredibly crispy with that satisfying “crunch,” made authentically with vinegar and sugar. Kids couldn’t get enough.
Dry-Fried Green Beans: Fresh beans wok-fried to a tender-crisp texture, sweet and packed with savory minced pork. Irresistibly good!

I was excited to try OK Asia Express after seeing many recent positive reviews and noticing how many Asian customers were there. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The food was bland, overly oily, and didn’t taste authentic. The three cup chicken used the wrong cut of chicken, the stir-fried beans were soggy, and overall the dishes just tasted off. On top of that, there were a lot of tiny bugs around the windows, which was unpleasant. The service was fine, but based on our visit, I’m surprised to see so many great reviews.

Food was 9/10 only because the fried rice was missing something but the other meals were spot on eye-closing tongue tingling delicious!!
The service was great and they were so patient with us, as I took a while (like I’d normally do) to decide on an order, and someone came to walk us through the different options and make recommendations.
We dined in and were served with grace and clean utensils.
The portions were great as well especially for the price point. The elderly server was also incredibly warm and we felt looked after even with all the other orders coming through.
Kudos to the team and ohhhh the egg roll was incredibly tasty.

I bought one of the most expensive dishes at lunchtime. It cost me $23 for the beef brisket and tomatoes. This dish was literally 50 to 60% ALL FAT not meat. When I brought it to the attention of the cashier, she did not offer to remedy the issue at all just expected me to pay a ridiculous amount of money for a plate full of fat. I boxed it up and brought it to my dogs because I will be damned if I’m going to pay $23 for food to go in the garbage. They really should be ashamed of themselves. I will never come back here again. And that’s sad because I have eaten here before and I really liked it, but the disrespect was too much! Also do NOT use their bathroom. It was disgusting. Diarrhea on the outside of the toilet that they clearly haven’t cleaned in months.

The dine-in experience was much better than the takeout. I was very disappointed with three of the four meals I ordered from the lunch menu fr take out. An overabundance of rice, the beef was chewy and inedible, the vegetables could have been cut into smaller sizes and there was absolutely no gravy or sauces in any of the dishes. Very disappointed and somewhat embarrassed since the meals failed to satisfy.

This was by far the worst Asian American restaurant I ever been to in my life. First off, it took almost an hour to get my food. I understand if there are a lot of people in the restaurant and it takes a while for orders to be processed but I sat there for an hour watching everyone (mostly Asians) get their food before me. I watched people come in 30 min after I took my order get their food before me. No one came to me to say it’s still cooking or anything. All I could see is everyone Asian related being taken care of before all the other customers. On top of that, after waiting close to an hour, they forgot to put the fried rice in the bag. The young lady gave me the fried rice with NO APOLOGIES whatsoever. FOOD REVIEW: The rice was BLAND and the fish was good. Chicken curry was pretty good.
I will never spend a red penny on this restaurant. In addition, I don’t think this restaurant belong in Durham due to Durham being so cultured. I come from one of the most racists cities in NC and this felt like I was home within that place.

Best Chinese takeout we’ve had in a long time. General Tsou for hubby and me, egg roll perfect. You know you’ve found a winner when many of the guests were Chinese. Definitely a great take out!

I had dry pot cauliflower and pork belly. I loved it—lots of flavor, a little spicy, good vegetables. I would order it again in a heartbeat. I look forward to exploring the other dishes on the menu. UPDATE 1/8/26. I have had takeout from OK 6 times now. My 5 stars stands! Their sweet and sour crispy pork, dry pot cauliflower, dry pot chicken wings, mapo tofu and stir fried cabbage with garlic are delightful and are the best Chinese dishes I have had in my 35 years in Durham.
