I loved the food here. Ramen is flavorful but not salty, pork is tender and juicy, egg was included. Additionally, their onigiri and Japanese doughnuts were delicious.
The food came out quick and service was good. The place was renovated beautifully from the previous business before it.
This place beats Toshi’s Ramen by a long shot. Go here instead if you want quality, flavorful ramen that actually includes the egg!

Ojisan is a lovely little food spot! The food is appropriate for the price in both flavor and portion, and it’s a nice location in downtown Eugene. It just isn’t quite a 5 star joint. The garlic edamame and char sui onigiri are some of the tastiest small bites in the area. They are packed with flavor, and they are prepared to near perfection. But as a ramen shop, I found the ramen itself to be underwhelming. The ramen has limited options, and it is quite basic in flavor and toppings compared to most other ramen shops. The location is nice, but the interior has some imperfections. The tables, for one, are quite wobbly, and the large windows offer little insulation from the outdoor weather. If you’re looking for a casual bite to eat, I would definitely recommend checking it out! But I wouldn’t consider it a top tier establishment.

Melt in your mouth pork, good serving size, and delicious broth. I love this place. The staff are always very friendly and the food is always very fresh. They’re very accommodating with asking for changes to a bowl, too. Highly recommend.

I’ve had great experiences with Ojisan when I dine in.. I however was not feeling well tonight so ordered food to go. Big mistake. Found practically the entire egg shell intermingled with my ramen noodles making it uneatable. I let the first bite go because I assumed it was a small piece but the chunks of eggshell just got bigger and bigger. I am already sick and not feeling well and got so grossed out I had to throw the entire thing of ramen away. I’m giving 2 stars because I called them and they were nice and said they’d refund the ramen but that will take a few days so we will see if they keep their word. It’s almost so bad if I don’t see a refund I may go back in person. But will likely never get ramen from here again. Back to Tokyo Tonkatsu.

I got the Katsu chicken spicy ramen with a ginger broth. It was so yummy. My husband got the spicy pork belly ramen with miso broth and his was also super delicious. The miso broth is definitely more flavorful. But both are super good! The staff were very nice and lots of seating. I love the natural lighting and its the perfect spot to watch people yell at eachother outside lol. 10/10 spot!

It’s decent, simple ramen. Not a lot of options but the options they do have are done well. I feel like the broth is a little salty, but more along the lines of personal taste rather than “something is wrong with it”. The pork belly is the best I’ve had in a long time, literally melts in your mouth. I also enjoyed their shrimp tempura, it’s big pieces and they’re well made.

I ordered the chicken Karrage?? With rice and Mac salad. It was great! Really great! I liked it a lot. I don’t really care for their teriyaki sauce. They have a nice spicy mayo that’s good. Another ginger shoyu type broth that I liked. I’m not a big fan of their Ramen, however. Their broth has an overwhelmingly gamey/burnt taste, and I just didn’t care for it. Their pork bellies are amazing! Overall, I’d like to try more things on their menu, including their Tempura. The presentation on all their food, especially their Ramen is excellent. I don’t think it’s better than Tokyo Tonkahatsu, but it’s good.

I came in today at 12:30 and was greeted by the sweetest, most patient, and friendly server Scott. He was truly awesome. The food? It fueled me! I’m beyond thankful for such a great experience.
