I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Oishiya Hibachi & Sushi! The sushi here is phenomenal – every roll was fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients they use.
What truly made our visit special was the staff. Everyone was so warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. They made us feel welcomed from the moment we walked in and took great care of us throughout our meal. It’s clear they take pride in both their food and their service.

Oishya is 100% my favorite sushi place in Murfreesboro, without a doubt! It’s such a cute spot and their food is phenomenal. We always get their gyoza, a few such rolls, and I always go with their hibachi NY strip. The most recent time I went I tried the California Lovers entree and I would definitely recommend.
One thing I want to note is their amazing service every time I go. The waits are always super long, but the employees and servers are always so kind to you and help you as best as they can. I went for Valentine’s Day and I didn’t get to grab my servers name but she was beyond amazing, answered all the questions we had about things on the menu, and even drew me an adorable cat on our to go box!

Oishiya is easily my favorite sushi and hibachi spot around. The sushi is incredibly fresh and noticeably larger than most places, so it’s definitely a great bang for your buck. The hibachi’s always cooked to perfection, and the service makes you feel genuinely cared for. The staff bring great energy and treat you like family, making every visit an experience worth coming back for. I’d recommend anyone to visit this place a thousand times over!!

If you plan to dine at this restaurant on a Friday or Saturday evening, be prepared for a potential wait, but rest assured that it will be worth it. It’s important to be kind to the staff who provide information and estimate wait times; there’s no need to be rude as they are simply doing their job. Despite the restaurant having a small dining area, the food and service quality are exceptional. During our recent visit, my husband and I waited for 30 minutes (we stayed in our car as they collect your contact details to notify you when your table is ready) before being seated. Our server was attentive and helpful with menu questions. We ordered the chicken hibachi, a crunchy California roll, and a fancy roll, all of which were delicious. The salad dressing was outstanding, as my husband enjoyed it so much that he ended up eating it with a spoon. The clear soup had a lovely smoky flavor that we both liked. The main course, including the flavorful fried rice and grilled vegetables, was equally impressive. The yum yum sauce was delicious. The portion sizes were generous, leaving us with leftovers for lunch the next day. We will definitely return to try more dishes.

The tonkotsu ramen broth was good; however the pork lack a little bit of flavor and the egg had a strong soy sauce taste which ruined it for me. This is the first restaurant that made the eggs tasted like this. The udon noodles soup was bland. The tempuras were good though. The scorpion roll did not have enough crab in it. Most of the crab was outside the roll.
Edit 10/25/2025 gave this place another try and ordered. The spider roll and pork katsudon. The katsudon was nasty. It was salty and sour. Not recommended and will definitely not return.

The only reason I put atmosphere at 4 stars was because they definitely need more room. This place was amazing we got a three roll deal for 15 and ended up getting sides of rice and a thing of teriyaki for the rice the totally was around $24 dollars for only two people it’s insane how cheap you can be if you try!

This is one of those little local spots that you can’t pass up! The fish is so fresh, the sushi is beautiful and tasty, the staff are so attentive and friendly, and the owner cares about making connections with clients! They have a great beer selection as well! I’m very impressed and highly recommend!

This is a good place to go for sushi. We came here on a Saturday night and the wait was so long. We were told that the wait was about 45 minutes and it ended up being a little over one hour before we were seated.
The sushi did taste fresh. I like most of the rolls that we got. We all were full.

This is hands down the best sushi restaurant in town (especially if you are a sushi lover who looks for actual quality raw fish, not just cooked rolls)! The service is always fantastic, food is delicious, timely, and affordable – we always have a great experience. 10/10 recommend!

My goodness I have stumbled onto another great spot here. My friends and I honestly loved the entire experience eating at Oishiya. Now I must say the place is a little small so there isn’t a ton of seating so you may have to wait just a bit, but it is well worth your time. We did only try the sushi items during this visit, but I can assure you we will be back to try the ramen, udon, or maybe even the fried banana dessert.
