I thought I would be dining at just another sushi restaurant, but from start to finish, this establishment had me wishing that they had a location in my home town, as I was just there visiting my son in college.
First off, I have read other reviews on here that leaned towards the negative, and the only conclusion I could come to is that these people are generally either not happy people, or the only food they are used to is fast food. How anyone can give this restaurant anything other than 5 stars, is beyond me.
The atmosphere upon entering was pleasant and gave a very welcoming and comfortable vibe. I observed families with children as well as tables of adults only, and everyone appeared to be having an enjoyable afternoon.
We were sat and attended to by, I believe her name was Tracy, and she did a magnificent job. When we ordered, she memorized our requests, when our water glasses started to head towards below “half-full”, she filled them without asking, and her general demeanor and attitude was all smiles. She deserved the tip that was more than the suggested tip at the bottom of the receipt!
And the real reason that you may have read this far, how was the food? My two teenage sons and myself, first order 4 rolls, the Golden Roll, Dancing in the Street, What’s Wrong, and Burning Tongue. My sons were skeptical at first about my ordering the Golden Roll, but they tore into it like men starving on a deserted island. Between the 3 of us, the first 4 rolls lasted less than 10 minutes, maybe even less than 5 minutes! This was sushi of the like that we had never tasted before. All sushi before these, pales in comparison. Still hungry, we order 3 more rolls, the Oishi Roll, the Hurricane, and the Baked Lobster Roll, and we were so thankful that we had ordered these towards the end of our dining experience. These 3 were the “pièce de résistance” of everything we had consumed during our visit. The tastes had us reminiscing hours later, and the presentation was magnificent!
I would highly recommend this wonderful restaurant to anyone visiting or living in the College Station area, I just wish it wasn’t an hour and a half from where I live, or I would be there several times a week!
Again, for those who would dare to give this place a negative review, I feel sorry for you, as you must be a generally unhappy and uptight individual and I pray that you learn to actually taste food and learn to savor and enjoy. I pray your lives get better.

This place was pretty good. We went for lunch on a Saturday. We liked the atmosphere and the service was a 10!!! Our drinks and appetizers were delivered fast. Our main dishes took a little longer. We both ordered chicken dishes. Mine was hot, my husband’s was not. I ordered sesame chicken and he got General Tso’s chicken (I believe). The sesame chicken was very sweet. My husband’s chicken was honestly mid. Next time, we will try some sushi since that’s what seemed to be being served the most. We will definitely try this place again.

Been here a few times. Absolutely LOVE the food here. Recent diagnosis and I need to really watch carb intake. Offer a riceless sashimi… I got the rock n roll. YUMMY. Highly recommend.

Octoner 2025 Update: The Sushi is consistently good. I highly recommend getting the Bento Box option. It is good quality and value.

We have also had about half of the specialty rolls. Not one bad one yet.

August 2025 Update: Really good sushi for a college town. Good service. Reasonable atmosphere. Been here 20 or so times in the last 2 years.

Hot and Sour Soup is surprisingly good. Many of their special rolls are really good. The Bento Box Lunch option is good and a well priced.

Very good price for the Dasai 45 Sake.

Mr. Johnny, she and his team here including Sean and all the wonderful weight staff have created the best fine dining experience in the middle of Central Texas. I mean this restaurant is the reason why most restaurants just focus on one cuisine. Japanese AND Chinese? Sounds good until you can’t even make one dish taste good. Sorry if I sound harsh but a restaurant like this wouldn’t last a day in anywhere downtown but this is college station so-but vibe is clean and service was good. Food was just quite frankly bad though, note that I do have high expectations however. Udon was probably only dish that was somewhat decent. Like this is upsetting to write because I want to give good reviews but what can I say?

Love coming here, they know us too well. We are tuna fanatics, and the menu is so versatile for many options even for a picky eater.

We ordered from the category “traditional Chinese food”.
The eggplant and tofu: nice! I liked it best.
The spicy beef: nice! But portion is relatively small.
The beef noodles: Big NO NO! Tasted weird.

Will come again and try more dishes.

Took my wife here tonight for an early Valentine’s and had a wonderful time. We went a little later, around 8:30, and it was still fairly busy, but we were seated right away. We were doted on all night by a sweet older Asian woman who took very good care of us, checking on us regularly as well as cleaning up around us for close. All of our food was delivered very quickly and tasted amazing, not to mention the beautiful plating. Although this place is a bit more expensive, they do have reasonable specials all day, plus the portion sizes were very good for the price, and the cuts of sashimi were thicker than I’ve seen at other similar restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place for date night or even a business lunch, it was definitely worth every penny for me.
