Oh Mama Kitchen is a small catering and to-go spot offering a wide variety of Korean soul foods, such as 전, 김밥, 만두, and assorted side dishes perfect for busy people looking for comforting, home-style meals. Tucked into a modest retail space, it happens to be one of my sister’s favorite places. They prepare many delicious dishes in ready-to-go boxes, making it easy and convenient to enjoy authentic Korean flavors. It’s easy to see why this place is quickly gaining popularity.

The young woman at the counter (not sure if she was the owner or an employee) was very unfriendly. Her facial expression and tone were quite intimidating. The marinated crab had a very strong ginger taste, and while the chicken tasted okay, it had a slight chickeny smell.

If you’re in need of getting your Korean food fix at home, Oh Mama Kitchen is your place to go for that need. Since we were in the area, friend and I stopped by to grab some food to enjoy later.
Decent amount of parking in the lot. We easily found a spot and stopped by around 2 pm. They constantly stock their shelves and fridge so we weren’t concerned about missing out on an item we wanted. Plenty of side dishes, main entrees, desserts, and drinks to choose from!
I picked up their steak bulgogi kimbap ($10), large japchae ($10), and some mochi ($7.50). I had initially wanted their non-spicy fish cake but they only had the small container ($8) of the non-spicy and the large container only had the spicy fish cake ($10) so I skipped out on that. I also appreciated that the person ringing up my order asked if I was going to eat the japchae that same day, as I had picked up the refrigerated box that’s already cool and good for heating up later and not the container that was freshly made and still warm.
The inside isn’t too big and if there are a lot of customers inside, it may feel a bit cramped. Luckily, most people know what they want, so the line to check out isn’t long. Make sure to grab a basket so you’re not juggling all the items in your arms!

This is a to-go only restaurant with a big selection of Korean side dishes, kimbap, some frozen items (dumplings), rice cake, and even fried chicken. The fried chicken is made-to-order, which can take ~15m so I would recommend calling in advance. The chicken was a pleasant surprise! Really good flavor and lightly fried.
We purchased 5-6 side dishes — a variety of kimchi (green onion kimchi, cucumber kimchi), namul, stir fried fish cake, and dried squid. All were really good! It’s priced a bit higher than what you can get at the grocery store, but worth it imo.
We also tried 2 different kimbaps, which were very good. and rice cakes too!
Overall a great spot to check out if you need some dishes to get you through the week. or a quick snack!

SOUTH KOREA (via Eat the World Los Angeles) – It usually has a couple customers coming and going, but trips here are quick and painless, except maybe for your bank account as you keep adding boxes from each fridge to your order. The kimbap seems to have the place of most prominence in the small shop, what is left for the day is displayed right as you walk in. If you come after the lunch rush, the shelf is likely to look a bit bare, but make sure to take at least one of these home as it is somewhat of a specialty of the shop.

They sell a wide variety of Korean side dishes (banchan) as well as traditional Korean drinks like sujeonggwa and sikhye. The food is generally excellent, and while I’d recommend the side dishes overall, the pork bulgogi is especially worth trying.

This place is the epitome of the Korean food aesthetic, and we usually get their sushi, their Bulgogi Kimbap roll. It is delicious and beautifully executed. This is a great spot to get food to go, it’s not a sit-down restaurant. The services friendly, and it’s very much quality food and overall healthy.

I did not expect much from this place. I was looking for a quick and simple breakfast. They had a lot of side dishes for sale in the cooler. There were some 김밥 so I picked this . It was only $5.50. They could easily charge a couple more dollars. It was tasty and cheap but had a lot of ingredients. And the lady gave me free rice beverage. What more can you ask??
