Oh G Burger was born from a passion for great food, Korean flavors, and community-driven dining. Created in collaboration with the team behind Ohgane Korean BBQ, the concept was inspired by the desire to blend Korean culinary heritage with the beloved American smash burger. The name, a nod to Ohgane and Mrs. Oh, reflects the brand’s roots in the Bay Area’s rich Korean food scene. The idea came to life in Oakland Hills, where the first location was carefully designed to be more than just a burger spot—it’s a hip, low-key hangout with a brilliant mix of flavors and culture. Featuring house-ground short rib patties, locally sourced ingredients, and Korean-inspired twists like the Bulgogi Burger and Kimchi Grilled Cheese, Oh G Burger quickly ga

The Bulgogi Burger is good; the sweet sauce and extra lettuce do a great job of mimicking the K-BBQ experience. For the Hayward Burger, definitely add a patty to complement the unique tuna-filled jalapeño poppers! Their Popcorn Chicken has a perfect ‘soft crunch’ (the OMFG Cajun-Korean seasoning is a must), and their loaded fries are easily better than In-N-Out’s. They also have a VERY unique and fun canned drinks. Highly recommend!
During my visit, the owner made sure to meet my needs in a timely and respectful manner. Ice for my drink was available on request, as well as water (and water cups). I noted that the owner was also very close with his regulars, but also willing to give a customer space if he felt that they wanted to be alone. It seems that management is in good hands.
On this first visit, I ordered the Hayward Burger combo. To be honest, I didn’t take a closer look at the menu and just picked on the spot – almost none of the ingredients in the burger itself were anything I would have normally had. Based on its individual ingredients, I should have hated what I ordered… but I didn’t! The combination of flavors made what would have been an unpleasant experience in lesser hands, a pleasantly surprising one. Even if I don’t know whether or not I will order another Hayward Burger, it’s certainly changed my opinion on bell peppers for the future. For that, I have to give a 5 star rating for the food – at any other place, I think I would have hated it.
I’ll definitely be coming back in the future!
The double smash is the way to go. The bulgogi burger just missed the mark for us along with the bulgogi sauce on the burger. The loaded fries were alright but would probably opt for just the plain fries or onion rings next time. The OMFG run was supposed to be pretty spicy but we thought it was good and a nice heat level but nothing crazy.
The lady that served us was nice and checked up on us a few times. The parking around the area is just street parking and can be hard so give your self some time to find parking.
Highly recommend stopping by here if you are in the area!

The staff is all super friendly and helpful. You get table service. And all questions get answers!! Yum yum yum!!!!
I had 2 burgers, the smash burger and the bulgogi burger with fries.
The lettuce was extremely soggy, and inedible. Meat patties i believe were only 1/4 pound so very small. I really wanted to like this place but there are better burgers around for sure..
