We recently visited Oh Calamares in Kearny, NJ, and the food is still absolutely excellent. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and authentic.
We had the lomo saltado, which was delicious and perfectly cooked, and the shrimp chupe, which was rich, comforting, and full of amazing seafood flavor. Both dishes were outstanding.
That said, we couldn’t help but notice that the restaurant seemed a bit less busy than before. Also, they only had one server working, which could definitely slow down the ordering process and even delay getting the check at the end.
Even with that, the experience was still very positive, and the quality of the food remains top-notch. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and would absolutely recommend it.

This place has the best true Peruvian food! It is absolutely superior than all the many Peruvian places that I have tried in NYC. I loved everything I ate in this place and it has an amazing service! and will definitely come back many more times.

My friend loves this place and we had the most delicious, delectable meal. The service and drinks were amazing too. . . We had the traditional Peruvian rice dish and the tastiest steak with onion, tomato and potatoes
The free corn nuts and spicy dip were also yummy. Can’t wait to return

Too clutter not enuff open space. First time with my family. We are Puerto Rican trying out Peruvian Food. Food came out hot. The Fish was good with the calamari and octopus. Yuca was DELICIOUS Fried Yuca. The French Fries I DO NOT Recommend. The Salmon dish, my son enjoyed. The Onions was sautéed and very good. Music was old school. Good memories. The Server was new so I understood. They need to have a Soda Machine for Free refill especially for the kids. The wait to leave was Not called for at all. The table wasn’t being cleaned until we started cleaning off the table ourselves.

One of our favorite Peruvian foods in the area. They make the best bistek a lo Pobre. They also make the best chupe de Camaron. It’s a bit small but the service is fast. Always a delicious meal.

Good place. Good service. Great food! I love this place for its food. I find this place has food that compliments the Peruvian palate I would say I have. My family and friends also like this place, many of which are not Peruvian. This is not to mention the service is great. I had an incident where my friend didn’t get his food order correct and we had to wait for the chef to make it over again. At first I was annoyed but the customer service really showed when they apologized right away and even took off an item on the bill. Mistakes happen, but how you answer to them shows how you value your customers. Good job!

Restaurant has live music. Friendly vibe. Had their Pisco sour drink and it was good but strong. Their shrimp was delicious. Good place to try if you like Peruvian food!

First time eating here. Upon entering it felt like a place tourist would visit when they came to Peru. There were plenty of options on the menu. I ordered the Tacu Tacu with fish. When the dish arrived it lacked color and I thought I would be disappointed. However, with my first bite the flavors exploded in my mouth. This was unexpected. It was so delicious. For dessert I had the Tre Leche. It was very firm and delicious.
They have a nice variety of alcohol beverages. I had the traditional Inca Kola. I would recommend this restaurant. The restaurant has no parking but there is metered street parking and a metered city parking lot directly across the street.
